One of the most popular songs by British alternative rock band The Cure, Lovesong was released as the third single from their album Disintegration, and it became the band's only song to hit the top 10 on the American Billboard charts. The band's singer wrote this straightforward love song as a wedding present for his then-fiancé, making it a perfect choice for weddings, receptions, and cocktail hours, along with pop concerts, solo & ensemble contests, and any other occasion that needs some upbeat alternative rock! This arrangement for violin and cello duet maintains the exciting drive, soaring melodies, and instrumental hooks of the original, and it will be just as much fun to play as it is to listen to. In terms of melodic and technical difficulty, this chart is intermediate level, but I'm listing it as advanced-intermediate due to a number of interesting tied and syncopated rhythms throughout the parts.
