SKU: A0.844596

Composed by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Contemporary,New Age,Rock. Score and part. 10 pages. Phil Beaman #4110711. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844596).

An original 21st Century piece which fuses influences from nearly every genre and period.
The Nocturne showcases the performer's tone quality, particularly in the upper register. The melody has hints of Contemporary Classical, Post-Romantic, and New Age, but overall is Minimalist. The Piano Accompaniment in this section is entirely a 2 chord ostinato in the Right Hand only.
The Rondo has continuity from the Nocturne in that the Piano Accompaniment continues with Right Hand only chords. This section is heavily rhythmic with West Indian/Caribbean rhythms and some pulsing Rock influence, yet still with characteristics of Contemporary Classical.
This Nocturne and Rondo makes a great Audition piece to show your musicianship. Or a formal Recital performance piece.
 Nocturne - 64 mm, Andante, 4:30-5 min.
Rondo - 61 mm, Allegro, 1:45-2 min.
7 page score, 3 page solo part
Temporary recording of piano reduction of score.

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Cássio Silva Chaves. Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 10 pages. Cassio Silva #6346773. Published by Cassio Silva (A0.843232).

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is a popular piece of choral music. It was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is the 10th movement of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. It was written during Bach's first year in Leipzig, Germany. Bach did not compose the melody. That was written by Johann Schop. Bach only harmonized and orchestrated Schop's melody. A transcription of Jesu was done by English pianist Myra Hess (1890-1965), and was published in 1926 for solo piano.

In 1934, Hess' version was adapted for piano duet. British organist Peter Hurford made a transcription of Jesu for organ. Today, Bach's piece is often performed at weddings and funerals. Bach wrote the piece for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings and continuo. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is one of Bach's most enduring pieces of music.

This song has an Intermediate Level of difficulties and can serve as a new step forward in the training of a musician.

Composed by G.Puccini. Arranged by Raymond Fenech. Christmas,Easter,Opera,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and part. 11 pages. Raymond Fenech #655218. Published by Raymond Fenech (A0.1050881).

O mio babbino caro (Oh my dear Papaâ€) is an aria from the opera Gianni Schicchi (1918) by Giacomo Puccini to a libretto by Giovacchino Forzano. It is sung by Lauretta after tensions between her father Schicchi and the family of Rinuccio, the boy she loves, have reached a breaking point that threatens to separate her from Rinuccio. It provides an interlude expressing lyrical simplicity and love in contrast with the atmosphere of hypocrisy, jealousy, double-dealing, and feuding in medieval Florence. It provides the only set-piece in the through-composed opera. This Aria is arranged by Raymond Fenech The duration is 3.21 minutes and it is an Intermediate level piece.

Composed by Jeno Hubay. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 4 pages. Phil Beaman #4897179. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844665).

Maggiolata is the Italian name of an ancient Spring Festival celebrated on May 1st, hence the subtitle Song of May. Jeno Hubay, Head of the Violin Dept at the Budapest Academy of Music, wrote this piece to be as light and celebratory as a perfect spring day. My arrangement abridges and slightly simplifies this classical standard. I reduced it from 6 1/2 minutes to 2 1/2 minutes by focusing on the recapitulation of the main theme but also included opening and closing cadenzas. Most of the expression markings are my own additions. I have scored it as an Instrumental Solo with an Organ accompaniment but a Piano accompaniment could be easily adapted from this. This arrangement, with an octave and a half solo range, is easy enough to be accessible for most players and its beautiful melody will have you singing and longing for spring.
