Fantasia on Themes from Band of Brothers, is a concert work for trombone choir, derived from Michael Kamen's brilliant cues for the 2001 HBO series Band of Brothers. American composer P. F. Strohm has explored and developed cues from the original score, creating a beautiful, compelling work for trombone choirs and their audiences. The result is a memorable and moving musical essay on the nature of war, in five movements entitled Despair, Relief, Valor, Grief, and Hope. The work is both challenging and rewarding, with an Advanced level of difficulty. Performance time 19:30. Member, ASCAP.

Band of Brothers is one of the most powerful real-life war drama TV series of modern times and its soundtrack composed by the late Michael Kamen (composer of Die Hard and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves) was a wonderfully poignant support to the series.  The haunting Main theme has a prayerful, respectful quality that evokes servce and sacrifice rather than the glory of war.  The final moments of the opening sequence, a simple broken F major chord in the manor of a military trumpet, played by horn solo remind us we are indeed in a military drama.

This full orchestral arrangement encompasses the cue called REQUIEM as well as the MAIN THEME in a tribute to not only the TV drama itself and its soundtrack but also to Michael Kamen who was taken from us all too early.  It includes optional SATB chorus.

Masters of the Air is a 2024 American war drama miniseries created by John Shiban and John Orloff for Apple TV+. It is based on the 2007 book of the same name by Donald L. Miller and follows the actions of the 100th Bomb Group, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortressheavy bomber unit in the Eighth Air Force in eastern England during World War II. The series serves as a companion to Band of Brothers (2001) and The Pacific (2010). 

This arrangement of the Main Title Theme is scored for standard Brass Quintet: 1st Trumpet, 2nd Trumpet, Horn in F, Trombone, Tuba. The sweeping horn lines and bold brass chords make this an excellent feature number for brass ensemble.
