Bandana Sketches is a set of five character pieces for solo piano or piano and violin, inspired by scenes from nature and life in rural Montana in the springtime. The pieces are entitled The First Crocus, Runaway Calf, The Mighty Wind, Rising Creek, and Early Morning Roundup. The pieces range from approximately half a minute to one-and-a-half minutes in duration. The five pieces may be performed individually or as a suite, as piano solos or with piano and violin.  Bandana Sketches was commissioned by the Billings Music Teachers Association in 2021.
