When Pierre Jamet performed in the World Première of the Sonate pour flûte, viola et harpe by Claude Debussy, the composer suggested to the young harpist that he should arranged this piece for harp.  This is his daughter's reconstitution of his version, completely pedaled and with editorial markings.

A fairy tale full of inspiration written by a child was the stimulus for the creation of this polytonal work for orchestra. With humor and innocence, piquant orchestration and cinematic use of the sound, the work is dedicated to the child, Michalis Tillianakis and to Eleutherios Geitonas, director of Geitonas School who gave the idea for this project.
The work has been transcribed for piano, 4 hands, for the Duo Pianismo recital in Benetatou Cultural Center of Psihiko in 2010 and for wind quintet for the Q innegal Wind Quintet Concerts in Athens in 2011 (Attikon OdeionConservatory, Art Gallery Café, Athens, Perigiali Theater, Korinthos). Excerpts of the work has been performed by Psychiko Youth Orchestra conducted by the composer at Arssakeion Educational Institute Theater in 2016.

3 Pairs of Pieces for 3 Bassoons ( Bassoon Trio, Bassoon Group ) consists of 2 short pieces by Mozart, 2 by Brahms and 2 by Reger.
Mozart's beautiful Andantino K355 is paired with his brilliant 'Eine Kleine Gigue' K574. Brahm's famous lullaby waltz Op 39 No14 is followed by a livelier Waltz in G min from the same set. Thirdly, Reger's gentle Improvisation Op18 No1 is followed by a lively Scherzo-like Gigue. All satisfying and fun to play for your own pleasure but good for audiences in a concert too.

Originally from Glasgow, Timothy studied at the Royal College of Music, London and the Banff Centre, Canada. He was the Pianist for the Isis Piano Trio and Ballet Creations and is now in demand as an accompanist and chamber musician having performed with artists such as Dame Sarah Connolly and Tasmin Little. He has toured widely internationally and has recorded for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM as well as TV appearances in Russia and Egypt. Murray’s compositions have been recorded by The Fibbonnaci Sequence and Piers Lane among others with reviews such as ‘Corruscating’ (Independent) and ‘Highly imaginative’ (The Sunday Times).

Air on a G String is the popular nickname for the Air from Orchestral Suite #3 in D Major, BWV 1068 by J. S. Bach. Duration: 5:53 (taking both repeats). Level: Intermediate and up. This music is well known and admired by nearly everyone, so you will have an advantage in providing something familiar and well-cherished for your audience. Bach: Air on a G String - ~ Bach composed three noteworthy Orchestral Suites. He wrote his third orchestral suite, BWV 1068 in D, for his Collegium Musicum. The Overture of the suite features a double-dotted rhythm in the French style and employs the entire ensemble: trumpet trio, timpani, oboe duet, and strings. The strings were the typical 2 violin parts, viola part, and continuo of cello and harpsichord. Air - the title of the second movement, is, by contrast, scored only for the strings. It seems like this work was entitled Air on a G String not by Bach, but by a nineteenth-century violinist named August Wilhelmj. He arranged the Air such that the first violin part was performed by a single soloist – and entirely on the G String.

This is a solo flute arrangement of 'Air from Suite No 3 in D' (commonly known as 'Air on a G String') by J.S. Bach (1685-1750). Dynamics and phrasing have been added. This is an excellent piece to perform at a concert.

Purcell composed this opera, which is based on 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by Shakespeare, in 1692. Much of the instrumental music from the opera translates very well to a small ensemble arrangement and can be performed successfully by a competent group without a problem. This is number six of six and is called Dance For The Fairies.
