Giovanni da Palestrina was an Italian composer of the late Renaissance. The title is Latin for The child that is born. This is from the 16th Century Liber Primus Motettorum. Riverenza is to play with reverence. The piece starts of with a sense of expanding and plays with motifs almost in a fugual manner. The work finally ends with a Picardy third.
