By Jeremy Jordan. By Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by Alex Sears. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. Score and Parts. 49 pages. Alex Sears #874309. Published by Alex Sears (A0.1283017).

Inspired by Ray Charles and his Orchestra, this arrangement of Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' is a great way to feature your star trombonist with your big band. This feature allows the trombonist to play the part of Ray Charles throughout the first verse and chorus before allowing space for a trumpet soloist to take the second verse. A harmonized saxophone soli leads the ensemble to an open solo section with lots of space for improvisation before taking things out in the style of Ray Charles with a traditional ending. Written in the keys of Eb & F for traditional jazz band (5 saxes, 5 trumpets, 4 trombones, rhythm section). Lead trumpet written up to B5 (with an optional F6). Perfect for the advanced high school or college level ensemble!

TYPE JOHN FRIES IN THE SEARCH BAR TO SEE ALL I HAVE TO OFFER. Thanks, John. Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' is the opening song from the musical Oklahoma!, which premiered on Broadway in 1943. This was the first song of Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical collaboration to be heard by theatre audiences. It has become one of their most famous numbers and quickly became one of the most popular American songs to emerge from the wartime era.
