Sing one of Motown’s most signature songs with this upbeat and fun arrangement of ‘Dancing in the Street’. Made famous by Martha and the Vandellas, the song also took on a separate meaning outside of the charts when it became a civil rights anthem and has endured as a popular song for its catchy melody and message. This punchy arrangement is written for a cappella SATB and encourages good breath control, energised performance, and sustained lines. The popular melody is shared across parts, giving each voice line an opportunity to utilise a cappella accompaniment skills as well as a moment to deliver the catchy tune itself. This arrangement is ideal for high school choirs, chamber choirs, or a cappella groups interested in exploring a song which is both fun to perform and great to listen to as an audience member.
