String Ensemble Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 1 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.837748

Composed by A.b. Paterson and Marie Cowan. Arranged by Fiona Caldarevic. Folk,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. Fiona Caldarevic #444176. Published by Fiona Caldarevic (A0.837748).

One of Australia's most beloved folk songs and bush ballads, Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Paterson (music by Marie Cowan) is known by just about every Australian. This score was arranged for a beginner string orchestra at Grade 1 level. My primary school beginner string orchestra love playing it and the students have even requested solo versions to play by themselves as well. The parts include Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola (or Violin 3), and optional Cello.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1490412

Composed by Traditional. Arranged by BRIAN W. COPPING. Contest,Festival,Folk,Historic,Traditional. 33 pages. EMK Music #1067254. Published by EMK Music (A0.1490412).

Scored for 2 Trumpets (Bb Cornet/Flugel Horn), Horn in F, Trombone/Euphonium and Bass. There are Alternative Parts for Eb and Bb Horn, and, Bb Trombone, Bb Euphonium, and Eb and Bb Basses all in Treble and Bass Clefs.
This Medley brings together two well-known Australian tunes with the Queensland version of Waltzing Matilda which, in spite of a catchy melody written by Marie MacPherson, is less well known than the version written by Banjo Patterson and Marie Cowan. Botany Bay was originally heard, under a different name, in both Melbourne and London in the Nineteenth Century as part of a Burlesque Musical, and Click Goes the Shears reflects the importance of the wool industry in Australia. The contrasting time signatures and tempos are, in some way, symbolic of the enormous variety found in this vast continent.
