Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1459452 Composed by Randy Brooks. Arranged by Will Corbin. Christmas,Country,Pop. 10 pages. Will Corbin #1038405. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1459452). Randy Brooks says he was inspired to write this song by a tipsy relative. Important useless but interesting related fact: Brooks is the nephew of Foster Brooks, who made the rounds of '60s TV sitcoms, talkies and variety shows playing a stumbling drunk. Brooks' band talked him out of recording it himself, so he turned it over to Elmo Shropshire (I'm not making this up), who recorded it in 1979. (This is what most people would refer to as a very bad career move on Brooks' part, since he has not otherwise been heard of since.)This version, instrumental only, spares you the silly story ... but everybody reconizes the tune.If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to accommodate. Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.741208 Composed by Southern folk song. Arranged by Anne Britt. Children,New Age,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Anne Britt #4365746. Published by Anne Britt (A0.741208). A unique New Age piano solo arrangement that takes a very simple children's tune and plays around with major and minor keys to provide a contrast for the stormy verses. The rubato tempo and dynamic phrasing add interest and emotion while keeping it accessible to the early intermediate pianist. 4 pages. Performance time: approximately 3:10.Lyrics:The wise man built his house upon the rock,The wise man built his house upon the rock,The wise man built his house upon the rock,And the rains came tumbling down. The rains came down and the floods came up,The rains came down and the floods came up,The rains came down and the floods came up,And the house on the rock stood still. The foolish man built his house upon the sand,The foolish man built his house upon the sand,The foolish man built his house upon the sand,And the rains came tumbling down. The rains came down and the floods came up,The rains came down and the floods came up,The rains came down and the floods came up,And the house on the sand washed away.Visit the publisher's website for contact info and some free sheet music downloads: https://annebrittmusic.com/

David Warin Solomons #971319. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1387465). Poem by Rodenbach, with English translation by S N Solomons (Still of morning - Up Country), music by D W Solomons. The song is in French for the first half and in English translation for the (repeated) second half. Still of MorningUp country, in the lazy morning air,The bells ring out amid the velvet riseOf Dawn, gazing around with gentle eyes; The peals spill forth ... their music, pale and fair,Spends all its blossoms on the roofs in showers,And on the darkling serried eaves flingsBouquets of sparkling sound culled by the wind.Music of Morning tumbling from the towers,Falling from afar in faded garlands,Falling from yesterday in blooms invisible,Petals so slow, so icy cold and pale,Fluttering from the dead brow of Time.(c)S N Solomons

Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497866 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 24 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074279. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497866). Piano Duo - 2 pianos/4 hands. Ignite, Between the Octaves began with the impetus of static ‘pulsation’ (its original title) on repeated octaves. The piece is a fizzing dash of nodal vortices, small, then larger, spinning and tumbling and all the way to the finish line. This piece brings the complete suite of 7 pieces to a dynamic close, with a sense of ignition to new beginnings. The music echoes the opening F octaves of Initiate (movement 1). Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Piano Duo is ideally two Steinway grands, otherwise, whatever is available. An enjoyment of the tensions and relationships generated between the two instruments: grand-upright, upright-electronic keyboard is to be explored as a positive. Each piece creates its own world in the suite and can be part of smaller subgroups taken from the suite, in any combination, but the order of the pieces needs to be maintained if more than one is played. Here is a taste of the background to the musical world of this 53 minute compositional suite. During a reflective time I read the following: The whole philosophy of dharma art (Buddhist art) is that you don't try to be artistic, but you just approach objects as they are, and the message comes through automatically. (Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, from 'True Perception The Path of Dharma Art.' Shambhala 2008, p.133.) The 'objects as they are' became the 'octaves as they are'. As the pieces were composed the octaves had a centring and clarifying role that allowed other material to circulate around or play against them. They acted as pivots, repetitions, drones, ostinati, pointillist nodes, pedals, melodic features, struts, harmonic turnpikes, breathing spaces, bass lines: musical imperatives. The octaves called the musical shots most of the time. When the music pulled a semitone up or down and away from the octaves (as it did quite often) it was especially telling in the context of the ringing spaces the octaves were creating. I became interested in the subtle dislocation that two pianos could provide. By dislocation I mean a degree of tension between the natural acoustics of the two instruments in the room and the players idiosyncrasies as musicians.  The whole point of this work was to examine the nature of my syntax, grammar, and compositional thinking. The title demanded one thing above all: what notes am I going to use between these octaves?? My choice of notes was derived in most instances from the tempo, pitch, and rhythm of the initial octaves at the beginning of each piece alongside the individual word titles that I set out to explore as musical images. The audio was developed from Sibelius software, via MIDI to Logic samples of a Steinway grand piano.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1144944 By Mark G. Turner. By Mark G. Turner. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 2 pages. Mark G. Turner #745262. Published by Mark G. Turner (A0.1144944). The Tumbling Stream Through The Forest Shadows, an original piano composition, seeks to present the listener with an experience of forest mystery. The right hand chordal pattern, being somewhat repetitive, represents the sound of a small mountain stream gently descending through a shadowed forest. The melodic stylings of the left hand, increasing in lyrical complexity, represents the mysteries found in the forest depths. It is a piece of only moderate difficulty in its structure but the opportunity for a very advanced technique, sensitive application of dynamics, and lyrical phrasing provides an opportunity for the superior pianist to present a masterful performance.
