Tchaikovsky's lyrical mastery of the waltz is aptly demonstrated in this miniature from a set of twenty-four short works written in 1878. Trumpet parts in B-flat and alternate C are included and flugelhorn/trumpet substitute for horn. The sound file is an actual brass quintet performance of the entire arrangement and not a computer playback of the score. When coupled with my SMP brass quintet arrangement of Tchaikovsky's September from the Seasons or my transcription of his Andante from String Quartet No. 2 at Kendor Music it makes an attractive Tchaikovsky set.
