To underscore the uncertainties those experiencing homelessness routinely have to endure, the piece incorporates elements of chance and indeterminacy. This makes each performance truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and a unique addition to contemporary music programs. Key aspects of the piece are determined by the musicians themselves in real-time during the performance, which can cause the running time of this piece to vary between just a few minutes and, potentially, hours!
