As I rise to meet the morn,
My heart is heavy, sad, forlorn,
I pick up my load,
Look down the long road,
Then I drop to my knees to pray.
The Lord hears my prayer,
For He’s always there;
My needs are known,
I’m not alone,
And the Song of the Lord fills my day.
As the evening shadows fall,
I yearn to run to bedtime’s call,
But first I must,
For in God I trust,
And I drop to my knees to pray.
I give thanks to Him,
Seek forgiveness of sin,
For strength to do work,
My duty not shirk,
For the Song of the Lord filled my day.

The Song of the Lord touches my soul,
