Lovely arrangement made for my intermediate string students (an easy grade 3 string orchestra level). For violins 1/2, viola, cello and piano. Can be performed easily by a string quartet or a string orchestra without basses but the piano part is necessary and very playable. Great for church services and weddings. I mix in a little Pachelbel Canon. Surely to be a favorite with your audiences. The audio clip is an excerpt from the middle of the piece which runs 5 when done at mm 67. I sped it up to mm 77 just get through enough to give you an idea.

A sweet, lovely ballad made popular by guitarist John Williams and Cleo Laine, this piece by Stanley Meyers was made famous in the film score to The Deer Hunter. Arranged for string quaret, this would be a perfect piece for a wedding processional or simply for prenuptial or reception music.  There are plenty of places for making cuts to adjust the legnth to suit or adding repeats, however in this arrangement I have included both bridges for a long play version if desired.  With all repeats, it is about 5 minutes long.

Easy grade 2+ arrangement of this beloved hymn for string quartet or string ensemble.  I arranged this for my students who play in church together so there are a lot of bowings and fingerings (all first position) with some slightly challenging accidentals (low 1, low 4, high 3, etc) and some easy double stops.  Their are also some nice contemporary harmonic deviations in the final chorus. Everyone gets the melody at some point.

A wonderful, sweet old hymn classic arranged for string quartet or string ensemble at an easy grade 2 level.  The melody is introduced as a fiddle tune and everyone joins in for a big finale! Everyone one gets to play the melody! Arranged for my own beginning string orchestra students. Lots of lush harmonies underscore the chorus. The fiddle melody came into my head literally during my recovery after hip replacement surgery and I could barely wait to get to my studio to write it down and only after doing so did I realize that it was the verse of this hymn! Also in researching the history behind this hymn, I learned that it was composed by Mr. Webster on his violin!

This arrangement was done for my private string students as a violin solo or duo with a simple piano part that jazzes up the melody. I underscored with the carol lyrics and guitar chords so that it can be played at home during the holidays at family gatherings and at their churches. At the request of a mom, I created a second violin part so she could play with her daughter. The viola and cello arrangements will be available shortly in time for the holidays! This piece also works year round as Greensleeves.  I also created a Youtube accompaniment video so the kids can play this at home during the holidays.
