The embryonic version of one of Lou's greatest songs differs only in one vital respect from that of VU's third album of 1968, The Velvet Underground: where the demo is clearly a 'Dylanesque' folk ballad, the introduction in '68 of a jarring Blues-infused lead guitar completely alters the 'folky' feel and mood. The combination of two 'irreconcilable' tonalities produces something extremely rare and innovative in the history of Rock and Roll: Disharmony or Atonality!
