The song talks about trying to stay in the game and stay awake, but feeling like everyone around is changing while the narrator doesn't feel the same . The lyrics express a sense of longing and the pain of seeing others evolve while feeling stagnant.

The style of Everybody's Changing has been described as piano rock, a style of rock in which the piano is the main instrument instead of the guitar. Throughout the song, a synthesizer is played in the background.

The Ever Changing C is an early intermediately level piano solo which highlights several techniques.  First, students will use the 8 va and 8 vb concepts, utilizing the full range of the piano throughout by crossing the hands during play.  Second, an imagination of being on the sea requires students to perform the piece with a technique which produces a sound accordingly.  Third, frequent dynamic changes mimic danger on the high seas as well as calm conditions.  Lastly, students will reinforce their ability to count in 6/8 time.  My students have enjoyed playing The Ever Changing C for many years.  They enjoy the flow of the piece as well as the challenge of the cross-overs.  I know your students will enjoy the piece as much as mine!
