Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1410770 By Barry Manilow. By Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane. Arranged by Justin K. Reeve. 20th Century,Christmas,Holiday. Score. 2 pages. Justin Kenlon Reeve #993166. Published by Justin Kenlon Reeve (A0.1410770). Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was introduced in 1944 by Judy Garland in the musical Meet Me in St. Louis, a love of a film as one critic put it. Frank Sinatra later recorded a version with modified lyrics, which has become more common than the original. The song was credited to Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, although during a December 21, 2006 NPR interview, Martin said that Blane had encouraged him to write the song but had not had anything more to do with writing it. In 2007, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) ranked Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas the third most-performed Christmas song written by ASCAP members of the past five years.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is a song written in 1943 by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane and introduced by Judy Garland in the 1944 MGM musical Meet Me in St. Louis. In 2004 it finished at No. 76 in AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs rankings of the top tunes in North American cinema. This arrangement for Trombone solo and brass band is based on a big band arrangement by the great American arranger Dave Wolpe. It is suitable for advanced intermediate trombone players with a range up to High Bb. The central improvised section has a written solo that I personally played (but this can be expanded upon at the discretion of the soloist).

Tom Council #701543. Published by Tom Council (A0.1098016). A favorite song heard every “Christmas is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas†music and lyrics by Ralph Blane and Hugh Martin. Teaching in high school, I loved to work with vocal jazz and one Christmas I made an a cappella arrangement of this song for my POP Group. But because of copyright, it remained in my Finale Folder until ArrangeMe came along. Here is a recording by Matthew Curtis and one of his assistants. And yes, it’s now available on Sheet Music Plus. Merry Christmas and thanks for listening. Tom CouncilYou are legally obligated to purchase ONE COPY PER SINGING MEMBER, including conductors and accompanists.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.744631 By The Carpenters. By Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane. Arranged by Arranged by Elena Fortin. Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Elena Fortin #6097081. Published by Elena Fortin (A0.744631). Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - By Hugh Martin and Ralph BlaneArranged by Elena FortinThis gem of a Christmas song was first written in 1943, and was used in the 1944 film Meet Me In St. Louis. Judy Garland introduced this song in a scene where she is comforting a younger sister when they learn they are moving away from their beloved home. This arrangement is a nod to classic film--think old style soundtracks with lush orchestrations. I chose to write this song in 12/8 time, so the left hand triplets are accompanying the melody throughout. The song has undergone a few lyric changes since it's first incarnation--lyrics that were considered to be depressing were changed to be more uplifting.A well-beloved holiday favourite, the song has been performed by several different recording artists including Frank Sinatra, Micheal Buble, Josh Groban, and Sam Smith. If you enjoy this song, please check out my YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFOzbMUgcFWlmG-nfHOT_ZgYou can contact me or visit my website at https://the-piano-studio.com.If you would like to see this and other arrangements, please visit my publisher page at: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=Elena+fortin
