Sway With Me was written for Mexican singer Pedro Infante but first recorded in 1953 as an instrumental Cha-Cha-Cha ¿Quién será? (Who Will Be?) by its Mexican composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz. Infante sang it in the film School for Tramps (1954).
The version on which this arrangement is based was recorded by Dean Martin and the Dick Stabile Orchestra in 1954, with new lyrics in English completely rewritten by Norman Gimbel from the rather melancholy original in Spanish.

Sway With Me has remained popular and been subsequently recorded by numerous artists in several styles.

This arrangement for string quartet is a relatively straight-forward idiomatic transcription in the same tonality as the original recording, so you could even play along with it for fun.

The level is on the easier side of “advanced�; quickly rehearsed by professional quartets and an accessible challenge for experienced students.

Sway is arranged in a bolero-mambo song style.  The song was written by Mexican composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz.  Beltrán recorded the song for the first time with his orchestra in 1953. Pedro Infante, for whom the song was written, recorded it in 1954.

Norman Gimbel took the song, removed the somewhat melancholy Spanish lyrics about a man wondering if he shall ever love again, and wrote brand-new English lyrics about a man praising his dancing partner's ability to affect his heart with how she sways when they dance. This new song, titled Sway, has become a standard in the pop repertoire.

The first version to achieve considerable success in the United States was recorded by singer Dean Martin with the Dick Stabile orchestra in 1954.

This song is about dancing, and being infatuated with your dance partner - Martin sings that when they sway together on the dance floor she is all he sees.

To honor their 25th year, San Francisco Area's Bay Bells has commissioned this handbell setting of Pablo Beltran Ruiz's well-known mambo tune, Sway (Quien Sera). The distinctive marimba sound is heard in the malleted bass bells while the trebles carry the infectious tune. The added percussion parts really give it that Latin flavor and offer opportunities for improvisation if desired. The tempo can be altered to give the piece an upbeat groove or slowed down for a more languid version. Percussion part: Conga, Guiro & Cowbel.

Pablo Beltrán Ruiz was a Mexican composer and band leader most famous for composing the Spanish language song ¿Quién será?. This was later made famous by crooner, Dean Martin, who sang the English version as 'Sway', with lyrics by Norman Gimbel.  This version was written for an instrumental trio called Motif, based in Grantham, UK.  The rhythmic drive is provided by the piano and the melodic lines are taken by the other two instruments (flute and violin).
