Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797731 Composed by Mike Batt. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary,Pop. Score and parts. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #4301861. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797731). CLOSEST THING TO CRAZY - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is a beautiful piece by Mike Batt, most famously sung by Katie Melua, and it's written in irregular time. That, coupled with a haunting melody, makes for a piece that audiences will be stunned by. This arrangement is for 4 guitars (or a large ensemble), and all the lines are suitable for intermediate players. With a large ensemble, two of the lines can be split into two (single-voice) parts that would suit less experienced players. It's set in the same key as the Katie Melua recording, and the slow pace means that there's plenty of opportunities to add vibrato and show just how sweet a sound guitars can make. This piece has been played in concert by Hampshire Guitar Orchestra, and a version of it appears on YouTube, recorded live.

Thanks, John.  He'll Have to Go is an American country and pop hit recorded on October 15, 1959, by Jim Reeves. The song, released in the fall of 1959, went on to become a massive hit in both genres early in 1960. The song is about a man who's talking by telephone to the woman he loves, when he realizes that another man is with her. The recording features a small group of musicians: Floyd Cramer on piano, Marvin Hughes on the vibraphone, Bob Moore on bass, Buddy Harman on drums, Hank Garland on guitar, and the Anita Kerr Singers providing the background vocals. Country music historian Bill Malone noted that He'll Have to Go in most respects represented a conventional country song, but its arrangement and the vocal chorus put this recording in the country pop vein. In addition, Malone lauded Reeves' vocal styling - lowered to its natural resonant level to project the caressing style that became famous - as being why many people refer to him as the singer with the velvet touch..
