Beginning in the calm Summer and midnight twilight, Fall approaches. September snow and early November freeze up of lakes and rivers. Winter brings months of minus 30 and days with 16 hours of darkness. Gradually the first signs of Spring occur in April, with breakup of lake and river ice in late May. Finally, a return to the brief, wonderful bug infested Summer with 10:30 P.M. sunsets and nights that never get totally dark, completing the cycle.

SA chorus and soprano saxophone, piano, percussion - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1300 Composed by Susanna Lindmark. Children. Octavo. 8 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1300. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1300). 8.27 x 11.7 inches.Children of the wind, an English adaptation of Vindens barn, was commissioned by The Swedish Children’s and Youth’s Choir Association, UNGiKÖR, 2008. Composed for 2-parts children’s choir, soprano saxophone, piano and percussion.Children of the wind was created to inspire a sense of freedom. To make you feel the wind in your hair, see the majesty of high mountains or the greatness of the oceans. To return to places where life can be simple and authentic.Having grown up in the far north of Sweden, above the Arctic circle, living close to nature with long snowy winters and that very special Nordic light, this piece is inspired by the games that children play outdoors – catching snowflakes, playing hide-and-seek in harmony with the elements. Who can better speak the language of snowflakes and whisper secrets to the wind than the children of the earth? The children are our future, and every child should in his or her own environment have the right to explore this kind of freedom. The song is also inspired by the Sami cultural expression known as Yoyk. – Susanna Lindmark.
