Composed by Giovanni Paisiello (1740 - 1816). Arranged by Edited by Pat Spence. Classical,Concert,Graduation,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 28 pages. Piper Publications #6301185. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811786).
The six quartets for flute, violin, viola and cello were probably composed in Naples in about 1800. The first five quartets each have two movements, the sixth having only one. They are all engaging and enjoyable to play and listen to as might be expected from a composer whose operas in his life time were more popular than those of a certain W. A. Mozart.
The editing has been lightly done and all editings are shown in Parentheses ( ) or dashed lines. Obvious small errors have been corrected without comment.
The quartet is fun to play and will be enjoyed by players of intermediate standard and above.
Piper Publications is also publishing a flute & piano arrangement of this piece.
Sonata in D Major for flute & piano (PPF040B).
