String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.809075 Composed by Johann Friedrich Fasch. Arranged by Kim Diehnelt. Baroque,Concert,Holiday,Wedding. Score and parts. 30 pages. Kim Diehnelt #6560423. Published by Kim Diehnelt (A0.809075). Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688 – 1758) was a contemporary of J.S. Bach and Georg F. Handel and considered one of the top German composers during his time. This work has four movements (Vivace-Grave-Fuge-Presto). It was originally for strings and basso continuo; the music is well-crafted and has both a flavor of restraint and seriousness, as well as humor and joy. The Fuge movement is especially enjoyable. It is a refreshing addition to the repertoire for string quartet ensembles who perform at ceremonies, receptions, and other social events. Performance time is about 10 minutes with repeats. The final Presto can be played as a trio (violin, viola, cello). Mvt. 1 - Vivace Mvt. 2 – Grave (2:10 in MIDI recording) iMvt. 3 – Fuge (3:50 on MIDI recording) Mvt. 4 – Presto (6:46 in MIDI recording) This arrangement for string quartet was made at the request of the Hildegard String Quartet in Vermont. As professional musicians who perform for weddings and special occasions, they require high-quality arrangements that capture the full sound, color, and texture of the original work. The layout of the printed parts is designed to limited page turns and provide an ease of reading.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1226200 Composed by Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688 - 1758). Arranged by Pat Spence. Baroque,Chamber,Instructional,Wedding. 40 pages. Piper Publications #822229. Published by Piper Publications (A0.1226200). This four movement sonata was composed for flute a bec, oboe, violin and cello continuo. This edition has been edited and arranged for woodwind quartet for players  who wish to play in the authentic style on modern instruments. All edits are shown using dashed lines or parenthesis ( ). No dynamics or ornaments are indicated on the original manuscript and, tempting though it was, I have refrained from adding my own with the exception of a few very obvious cadential trills. The musical interest is shared equally between the four parts and throughout the whole piece no section is marked to be repeated.  I hope that many players from intermediate to professional standard will enjoy this delightful sonata.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1223252 Composed by Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688 - 1758). Arranged by Pat Spence. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 36 pages. Piper Publications #819457. Published by Piper Publications (A0.1223252). This four movement sonata was composed for pairs of oboes and bassoons in about 1740. This edition has been edited and arranged for woodwind quartet for players  who wish to play in the authentic style on modern instruments. All edits are shown using dashed lines or parenthesis ( ). No dynamics are indicated on the original manuscript and, tempting though it was, I have refrained from adding my own. The musical interest is shared equally between the four parts and throughout the whole piece no section is marked to be repeated. A short improvised cadenza by one of the players would have been added in the final bar/measure of the first movement (marked “Adagioâ€). I hope that many players from intermediate to professional standard will enjoy this delightful sonata.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1143512 Composed by Johann Friedrich Fasch. Arranged by John M. Laverty. Chamber,Classical. Score and Parts. 100 pages. Zephyrwindmusic.com #743828. Published by zephyrwindmusic.com (A0.1143512). As an instrument, the chalumeau can without a doubt be considered the precursor of the modern clarinet. The Chalumeau Concerto by Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688 - 1758) is one of the few examples of a piece written by a signiï¬cant composer for this instrument. In addition to being a piece written for an instrument in transition, the piece itself is from an era when compositional style was in great transition. The Chalumeau Concerto has elements that can be considered either late Baroque period or early Classical period just like the instrument itself. To add to the strange development of this instrument, two additional spellings are found on the original set of parts. “Chalumeaux†and “Chalimeau†can be clearly seen. Instrumentation: Solo Clarinet (Chalumeau) in B-flat Violin 1 Violin 2 Viola Cello Bass Harpsichord Oboe 1 Oboe 2 Bassoon.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742401 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Baroque,Concert,Standards,World. Score and parts. 111 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #3005423. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742401). The four orchestral suites (called ouvertures by their author), BWV 1066–1069 are four suites by Johann Sebastian Bach. The name ouverture refers only in part to the opening movement in the style of the French overture, in which a majestic opening section in relatively slow dotted-note rhythm in duple meter is followed by a fast fugal section, then rounded off with a short recapitulation of the opening music. More broadly, the term was used in Baroque Germany for a suite of dance-pieces in French Baroque style preceded by such an ouverture. This genre was extremely popular in Germany during Bach's day, and he showed far less interest in it than was usual: Robin Stowell writes that Telemann's 135 surviving examples [represent] only a fraction of those he is known to have written;[1] Christoph Graupner left 85; and Johann Friedrich Fasch left almost 100. Bach did write several other ouverture (suites) for solo instruments, notably the Cello Suite no. 5, BWV 1011, which also exists in the autograph Lute Suite in G minor, BWV 995, the Keyboard Partita no. 4 in D, BWV 828, and the Overture in the French style, BWV 831 for keyboard. The two keyboard works are among the few Bach published, and he prepared the lute suite for a Monsieur Schouster, presumably for a fee, so all three may attest to the form's popularity.Scholars believe that Bach did not conceive of the four orchestral suites as a set (in the way he conceived of the Brandenburg Concertos), since the sources are various, as detailed below. The Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis catalogue includes a fifth suite, BWV 1070 in G minor. However, this work is highly unlikely to have been composed by J. S. Bach. Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchestral_suites_(Bach)
