Well, I took a good look at that introductory verse, and concluded that there was a pretty good reason nobody sang it. It needed more work than the writers had put into it, in my opinion, which is a nice way of saying that it sucked. So I fixed it, so to speak. I believe that it stands up to scrutiny.The melody line throughout has some modifications in note lengths. It is a piece originally written in cut time, which it isn't really, since it is always being sung in a moody fashion you don't normally expect to find written in 2/2 time. I think maybe that Hoagy had a secret desire to write for movie musicals.I adapted the chord diagrams to make them more suitable for playing along with on the guitar.
