All around the world LGBTQ+ persons are being bullied, discriminated against , attacked, thrown in jail , and even killed with liitle to no laws to protect people.in my own personal life, as a victim of a horrible hate crime where the person involved attmepted to beat me and kill me , unfortuanelty i found out very qucikly how laws even in the USA do not protect me , how many cops ignored me and/or attmepted to make the attack  my fault , and how laywers did not want to help and judges either ,and beacsue of the laws i was not protected as a minority and the crime wasn't a hate crime even though the criminals admitted this as the reason of the attack.I was told that this was not a hate crime , unless the criminals made me a victim of S.A., used a car/vehicle , or a gun, or actually ended my life. I also wanted to add , this brutal attack ( recorded on video by the criminals )  which caused such serious bodily harm, had me in the hospital for surgeries, and required months of long and painful rehab and therapy.As a country, as a society, as a planet ,  we all need to do better, and have to have more protections for such a discriminated group of persons.I did want to add , all the issues happening around the world, and even here in the USA, such as the awful and fascist discrimitory laws in Florida and other states it's no wonder the statistics of LGBTQ+ that contemplate ending their person or even attempting the act .I ask respectfully  that every one please go to law makers and demand better laws and treatments of people no matter what community there are of. All people deserve respect, proper medcial care, and to have the same rights as every other human being.  We all  can and must  be the change  you wish to see in the world. It came to me at 3am yesterday and I went into my studio to notate it. It's a dreamy, soothing and sometimes soaring piece that reminded me of the octopus from the amazing documentary My Octopus Teacher. Part 1 is possibly more beginner intermediate, and I think some of the parts can be played as individual solos. I've included a link to the youtube demo on the score with an above hands view and a light up keyboard so that students can follow the score and listen.My husband and children loved this piece when they heard it, so I'm excited to have it published for others to learn and play. Part 3 was an idea from a piece I improvized in the Tottenham Court tube station a few years ago (yes, there was a piano in the tube station, and there should be a piano in every tube station as far as I'm concerned :) The theme I played that day never left me and it seemed to fit here. I wrote an expanded version of part 3 called Flight in D major that I hope to include on my website singplaystudios.com and here in a few weeks, so if you like part 3, I hope you'll check that piece out too. I plan to include this work in my 20 Beautiful Piano Solos book 3 (please find the first two books and many other repertoire and ear training books on Amazon). Thank you for considering learning this piece. This piece is inspired by the artwork of the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck, specifically the less credited illustrator of the world famous deck, Pamela Colman Smith. The music represents the symbolism and feeling behind the High Priestess card, with keywords of strength, adaptability, seriousness, intuition, loving understanding, knowledge, introspection, and self-trust. Each instrument is featured throughout, as the main melody and distinct rhythms are traded and dovetailed around the ensemble. The piece begins with a feeling of watery calm (e.g. Venetian Boat songs), ascends to a hopeful journey, moves through tense trials, then returning back to the distant flute melody, followed by a piano “solo� that ultimately inspired this chamber work in the first place. This work is great for high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional ensembles, as well as very advanced young chamber players looking for something new and fresh. Rhythms are simple, while expression and musicality can be explored. In performance, be mindful of balance issues, so seating arrangement can be adjusted. I recommend the horn player be seated on the outside, so as not to cover up the flute. Average performance time: ca. 4:30Other instrumentations are in progress, so please check back for updated editions. The original instrumentation involved the oboe and cello. About this Piano/Vocal/Guitar arrangement of “Heart of the Father� This arrangement containing a simple piano accompaniment and melody with chords of Heart of the Father by Ryan Ellis was created with the focus of ease of use in a Church setting for this modern song of worship. In the popular recording of this song Ellis uses his musicianship to change the melody slightly each verse as well as include expressive and elaborate vocal runs in numerous places through out the song. My aim was to write the melody omitting these vocal flourishes which are not as suitable for a corporate worship setting. With my many years of experience as church musician, worship leader and MD, I shaped this arrangement in a way to convey all necessary information for a modern church worship band with ease. Firstly the main Score simply has the melody and piano accompaniment. Secondly the parts are split up so the melody and accompaniment can be shared separately. The Lead, melody part, includes the chords so this part acts as a lead sheet which can be used for guitarists. I have also included the melody for Bb instruments also for bands which may have them. I have used repeats in a optimised way so that the music for each part takes up no more than 2 pages. All musicians know the frustrating limitations of music stands to hold much more than that!
