This short prayer, scored for TTBB, is a setting of the official school prayer of Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, CA. It has a message of faith, wisdom, and service for all ages but particularly for adolescents.  It is appropriate for both liturgical and concert use.  It should be performed in an unhurried manner with rubato-like lingering at the ends of phrases.  The final Amen, however, should be sung in time and connected throughout.

This transcribed arrangement by Alex Jordan (as recorded by the Leipzig Radio Chorus ) of a beautiful melody by Ludwig van Beethoven is a great introduction to fine choral writing and a chance for your men's choir to work on their German.
