Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792437 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. 20th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 32 pages. Gordon Cherry #4821669. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792437). Beethoven’s two duos were originally written for Clarinet and Cello, but are often performed with Bassoon. They were published without an opus and were probably intended as gifts for friends or to be performed at a private chamber music soireé.  Mr. Sauer’s arrangements are delightful to play. Duos 1 & 2 have three movements; the first in the traditional Sonata form, the second a slow movement Larghetto and third movement a zippy Rondo. Duo 3 begins with a first movement Allegro and the second movement is an Aria with Variations, having a quick gigue-like Allegro tacked on to the end. These duos may be performed by Tenor and Bass Trombone or 2 Tenors, with the 2nd part needing an f-attachment to reach down for some D’s and C’s. The first parts are all in Tenor clef and these threee works are of moderate difficulty.

Saxophone Quintet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1254362 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Christian,Easter,Historic. 29 pages. Regis Bookshar #847934. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1254362). Three selections based on Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds) (from Cantata No.   4, BMV   4) - Johann Sebastian Bach - Saxophone Quintet (2 Altos, 3 Tenors) - Digital Download.Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, Christ lag in Todesbanden (also spelled Todes Banden) (Christ lay in death's bonds) is a cantata for Easter written by Johann Sebastian Bach and is his earliest surviving Church Cantata. It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which both the text and the music are based on a hymn. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism.Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement gets more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No.   4, a straighforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen) (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged), which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No.   4.This arrangement is for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 2 Alto Saxophones and 3 Tenor Saxophones. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (29 pages).I hope you will enjoy playing these selections and please search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. There are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. I think you will be pleased with what you may find.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.888276 Composed by Edward David Zeliff. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Edward David Zeliff #4792021. Published by Edward David Zeliff (A0.888276). This short but poignant Communion anthem was written for and first performed in a Maundy Thursday service. The choir being not a large one, with no tenors, the voices designated are SAB and accompanied by piano. The piano writing integrates the accompaniment into the texture and the lyrical setting of the text. This piece is designed to be practical, easy to learn, and rewarding to sing, all of which is accomplished without sacrificing artistic integrity or writing down for the choral forces. Rather, the unison/octave writing at the beginning and the return of that sonority for the third section are coloristic devices to reinforce the text. The middle section makes full use of the capabilities and ranges of the three-part mixed choir format. The musical setting underscores the Hope of Redemption on the Eve of the Crucifixion at the Last Supper. The piece is equally suitable for any Communion Sunday throughout the Church year.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1073977 Composed by J.H. Hopkins. Arranged by Chris Hutchings. A Cappella,Christmas,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 5 pages. Chris Hutchings #678243. Published by Chris Hutchings (A0.1073977). A classic Christmas carol arranged for SATB choir a cappella, harmonised mainly using the Dorian mode. Verse 4 uses a lot of chromatic harmony as death is foreshadowed, and the following chorus is sung by altos with a soprano descant, before the final verse, Glorious now behold him arise leads up to a chorus where altos sing the melody, tenors a countermelody, and the sopranos and basses sing alleluias over and under them (heaven sings alleluia, alleluia the earth replies!) Ranges: sopranos D4-G5, altos B3-D5, tenors E3-A4 (only three brief A4s which can be sung in falsetto), basses G2-D4.

Small Ensemble High Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576392 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 5 pages. David Warin Solomons #19969. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576392). Sardonic darkly humorous setting of the poem by John Heath-Stubbs, permitted in accordance with the contract with David Higham Co Ltd, the holder of the rights of the estate of John Heath-Stubbs. I set this poem for three equal voices. The harmonies are quite close and scrunchy; they represent the throbbing of the toothache in question and the mental effect of it. The sound sample is performed by me. A video of the performance (3 altos), with the words on screen can be found on youtube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRecp1wRZzI === The original version for three altos is also available on this site.
