Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.591341 Composed by David McKeown. Blues,Easter,Pop,R & B,Rock. Score and parts. 3 pages. David McKeown #6292169. Published by David McKeown (A0.591341). The Tulip Ch’Boogie is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone. The Tulip Ch’Boogie is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Boogie originally referred to the piano style found in Southern State bars where the driving swung bass-line, often double in octaves, cut through the noise. These bass-line patterns were adapted by Big Bands in the ‘30s, and later by Jump bands like that of Louis Jordan. Later still Boogie was quickly incorporated into Rockabilly and Rock’n’Roll. The Tulip Ch’Boogie is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Tulip Ch’Boogie is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Individual part. 4 pages. James Pybus #735171. Published by James Pybus (A0.1135129). This lovely unaccompanied Concert Etude, originally composed by Ludwig Milde for Bassoon and here transcribed for Baritone Saxophone, will make an excellent addition to any recital or concert programme. Ludwig Milde was born in Prague in 1849 and studied the bassoon at the Prague Music Academy with the then-celebrated teacher, Gross. He completed his bassoon studies in 1867 and then from 1868-1870 he studied composition and harmony with Prof. Skukersky. Between 1870-1872, Milde played principal bassoon in the Linz opera house. He then served in a number of symphony and opera orchestras throughout Bohemia and Austria, after which he returned to Prague. He became bassoon professor at the Prague Music Academy where he taught from 1886-1894. He then resigned from the Academy but remained active as a soloist and as a private teacher. He wrote several study works, of which his “Orchesterstudien für Fagott†and “Akkordzerlegung für Fagott†became famous throughout the Continent and are still much in use. They were only fully acknowledged for their educational value after the war, in 1945. Milde died in Germany in 1913.
