Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522203 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Concert,Instructional,Standards. Score. 12 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3410943. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522203). Youngsters are sure to enjoy these tuneful pieces, crafted especially for the young learner.  The music follows on from the much easier pieces in The River at the End of Day. They are ideal for elementary pianists, but of course could be used with beginners of all ages. More experienced students will find them ideal and enjoyable sight-reading exercises or to develop the useful skill of transposing at sight. The colorful pieces are arranged in approximate order of difficulty, so you can feel free to pick and mix according to the needs of the students. Most of the pieces use eighth notes (quavers), quarter notes (crotchets), half notes (minims) and whole notes (semibreves). Each piece takes up just one page. With attractive melodies and interesting harmonies several of them could be strung together to create a suite for a student recital. Many of the fingerings are provided but sometimes the choice of fingering is left for the teacher and student to decide. For more advanced students, these pieces can serve a useful function either as sight-reading exercises or for transposing at sight, a skill that is sometimes neglected. The sample audio clip contains the following pieces from the collection: (1) Dance to the Rising Sun; (2) Song of the Tree Spirits; (3) Mountain Dance; (9) Hymn to the Stars and (10) Night Dance.

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596568 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Juan Maria Solare #4717703. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596568). Has the Rain a Father? This piece exists in two versions: Piano solo Guitar solo (without or with electronic sounds) The piano version has no huge secrets (to clarify: the pedal is used da capo al fine without interruption). The guitar version is written in three keys: E, G and A (Dorian). The performer may choose one or another score at their convenience. The guitar version can also use effects of all kinds, or amplifiers that are not always used in classical music. At the end of 2019 an album will be released on Spotify and other online music platforms with both versions of the piece (solo piano and acoustic guitar with electronic sounds). As an example of the amplitude that the composer expects from the performers: in this record production, the guitar signal is split in two parts, panned to the right and left, and different types of effects are applied to each channel (chorus, delay, reverb of different kinds and with different parameters). The original guitar signal is also in the center. Of course, there are also the electronic sounds themselves. A preliminary version can be heard here: https://juanmariasolare.bandcamp.com/album/has-the-rain-a-father Has the Rain a Father? is a quote from the bible, specifically from the book of Job 38:28. It is part of a series of rhetorical questions that tend to convince Job of his ignorance. Has the Rain a Father? was composed in Bremen (Germany) on March 17, 2019 (plus details to the piano part on March 27). Its duration is about 4:30. I asked some people about the wording of the title. Among the meaningful answers:   Which wording is better, Has the rain a Father? or Does the Rain have a father? (Bible, Job, 38:28). It will be used as the title of a music piece for piano. Has the Rain a Father? is slightly unusual, and thus is attention-grabbing, something you want in a title. It sounds more biblical, calling attention to the allusion. In ordinary speech the Does the . . . version is more common, but for a title you don’t necessarily want common. (Johnny Wilson, former Writer and Magazine Editor (1973-1999))

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1086611 Composed by Germaine Tailleferre. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. Score and parts. 31 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #690814. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.1086611). In 1953, Tailleferre received a commission from the Royal Ballet in Copenhagen for a new ballet score. The work was intended as a holiday production and was supposed to depict various Parisian scenes in a sort of Postcard from Parisatmosphere. Tailleferre enlisted her son-in-law Jean-Luc Derudder to design the sets and wrote a score full of the sort of popular music that Tailleferre knew from her childhood: polka, quadrilles, waltzes etc. In the Finale of this work, which she called a divertissement choréographique,, she chose the popular form of the French Cancan. Scored for pic112bscl1/2sxA/sxT/sxB/2hrn/2Bbtpt/2tbn/tuba/timp/2perc, this item is the score only.
