Choir - Digital Download SKU: A0.1071144 Composed by Greg Bartholomew. Christian,Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred. Full Performance. Duration 301. Burke & Bagley #2880409. Published by Burke & Bagley (A0.1071144). This is the first of Greg Bartholomew's three choral settings of text From the Odes of Solomon, as recorded by the Ars Brunensis Chorus.  The Odes of Solomon are believed to have been written around the year 100 A.D., and include strong parallels to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Scholars have debated whether the Odes should be considered Jewish, Christian or Gnostic, and whether they were first written in Greek, Hebrew or Syriac. Early Christian writings refer to and quote from them. A Syriac manuscript containing the text of most of the Odes was discovered in 1909 by the English scholar J. Rendel Harris, and other partial texts in various languages have also been found. There are 42 Odes. Some fragments are still missing from Odes I and III, and no part of Ode II has yet been found. For these choral settings, I selected text from four of the Odes of Solomon which I found particularly compelling. From the Odes of Solomon was premiered in concert on June 2, 2002, by the Ars Brunensis Chorus under the direction of conductor Roman Valek and choirmaster Dan Kalousek at the Husov Sbor, in Brno, Czech Republic.Watch a score video here:  https://youtu.be/tEHr8Q-Rg6Y?list=PLfOoI8O24sbw_30-GpKg6qkyT5tpYKNbB  For more information:  www.gregbartholomew.com/odesindex.html

Chamber Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596576 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Christian,Contemporary,Wedding. Score and parts. 12 pages. Juan Maria Solare #4810669. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596576). Meditative piece for chamber orchestra (2222.2200.timp.strings) Character: noble and majestic. Reflective, meditative. The title is an allusion to the Bible (Mark 11:23, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21). If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. One possible interpretation is that the inner mountain symbolize those troubles and issues that you can speak to, i.e. face, and therefore solve. Listen to it on all usual streaming platforms: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/5kuPwSQGnXK9CY9QNX4fks Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/speak-to-your-mountain-and-move-it-single/1462303377 Bandcamp: https://juanmariasolare.bandcamp.com/album/speak-to-your-mountain-and-move-it   Nico Zwaneveld from the blog Christian Dance wrote (10 August 2019): Maybe you can appreciate the works of Hans Zimmer, Gustav Mahler, Edvard Grieg... or maybe this introduction to Juan Maria Solare will cause you to add him to the same list when you are looking for additions to your music collection... let's just say for those special moments where other music genres will not be able to bring you the same feelings of hope, serenity, calmness, nobleness, or tranquility. (http://blog.christiandance.eu/2019/08/juan-maria-solare-speak-to-your.html) As for the parts, contact the composer (www.JuanMariaSolare.com) or search (soon) in Sheet Music Plus (https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/juan-maria-solare-sheet-music/3003582?aff_id=565049)

Alto Saxophone Duet Alto Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.586971 By Judy Garland. By Harold Arlen. Arranged by David McKeown. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show. 2 scores. 4 pages. David McKeown #3029171. Published by David McKeown (A0.586971). Over the Rainbow is the famous song written by Harold Arlen and sung by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. It is often quoted and voted as one of the greatest and best loved songs of all time yet the producers had to fight the MGM bosses to include it in the final cut of the movie. This version includes the less-heard verse introduction, but performers wishing to play only the famous chorus can start instead at bar 25. This version is arranged as a duet for two Alto Saxophones. Musicians at an intermediate standard and above will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances, with plenty of interest and variety in both parts. The overall performance time is just under three minutes. The short audio sample is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version while the full length performance on the youtube link is the Clarinet duet. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to approach expressive and legato playing. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown-sheet-music/3006203?isPLP=1
