The doctor came in shared those awful three words with us: You have cancer My mind went back about 25 years ago to a song I had written entitled: The higher the Mountain the better the view. The lines kept running through my mind. And my view was getting better all the time as by 2014 I had two cancers plus a return of the first cancer. Because of my troubles and the fact that God had lead me through the Valley of Cancer, I asked my friend, Randy Duck to record the song. We used the famous quartet, The Singing Ambassadors to do the back up vocals. Realizing that everyone has a mountain, it is our prayer that encouragement and hope be found in this message.

This piece would be an excellent addition to any quintet's concert programme.The first trumpet part of this version of the piece has an option to play the opening and closing passages on a flugelhorn for a more mellow colour, although this is optional.
