They are keen to play current, well known pop and film music. This is often challenging as they may not have learnt all the rhythms required yet. My experience is that simplifying rhythms rarely works as the children will play it how they expect it to go anyway. Rather than simplifying the rhythms themselves, I have written them with the least amount of ties so what they see and hear is the same even if it is slightly unconventional to more advanced musicians. . There are four different parts but they can be played by each instrument. This means you can use the parts that suit your ensemble. Part A - Tune and accompaniment*Part B - Tune and accompaniment*Part C - Mostly open strings and 1st fingersPart D - Bass accompaniment* Part A and B are equal in difficulty level to discourage hierarchy in string sections.The string parts are complete on their own. However, it is possible to use the original piano part to support if required.
