This new material is in a dark, minor key to musically portray the storm clouds as they gather across the sea. The God Bless America theme follows with a much calmer, lighter character, but the dark theme returns and intensifies. A second appearance of God Bless America comes in a four-part, hymn-like setting, and then is followed by a final statement of God Bless America, this time in a heightened, excited drive toward the end. The difficulty level is moderately advanced, and is best suited for a solid, well-trained pair of pianists.
