( My students in the second half of the John Thompson First Grade book play this.)  I have set it in A minor and there are just a couple position changes.  Students who have played my Ukrainian Bell Carol arrangement for the beginner level readily recognize the hand positions as well as the fingering for the eighth note run.  The chords are comfortable for the student to learn yet at the same time lend a richness to the piece.  My late elementary students love to play this during the holiday season; some even ask to learn it in the middle of the summer, just for fun.  A perennially popular piece arranged for the late elementary student.

The psaltery part was designed for a beginning psaltery player and is written in the key of C major with no sharps or flats. The piano accompaniment is at the intermediate level. To assist those new to reading music notation, two solo parts are included: one is the standard music notation (since the lyrics are still under copyright, they are not included).
