Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025416 Composed by Jehad Choate. Contemporary,Jazz,Latin. Score and parts. 45 pages. Jehad Choate #5818515. Published by Jehad Choate (A0.1025416). Based off the texts of Joseph Campbell, this is a musical representation of the hero’s journey with a twist: The hero becomes fully aware of the cycle they are both blessed and cursed to follow. With every step, the hero fights the tropes of mythology, but can they escape their own fate?Movement I: The Calling introduces our main theme naively. It's done in a style reflective of all action/adventure genres: romantically boastful, one dimensional and confident. But as the call to adventure imposes itself on the hero, the hero begins to think that all is not what it seems to be.Movement II: The Motions is a set of trials where the hero experiences great loss, triumphant battles, and a renewed image. Yet, that is just the cycle they expected and its trite conclusion and three act distinction troubles the hero.Movement III: A Fool’s Reckoning is a response to being a pawn in someone else’s story. It takes all learned elements and tries to distort them to be something new and different. But what if this transformation was all part of the same cycle? The hero fights until they forget what they fight for. Reluctantly resilient, they carry on wondering if there was ever anything heroic about them at all.

String Ensemble Cello - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.526260 By Glee Cast (Mashup With 782170). By Desmond Child, Jon Bon Jovi, and Richie Sambora. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Pop,Rock,Wedding. 22 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #6248797. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.526260). *INSTRUMENTATION: FOUR CELLOS*Livin' On A Prayer is one of the most iconic rock songs of the 80's and it is still beloved by millions to this day - and people just can't help singing along! With as much energy and hair-metal passion as the original, this arrangement is a ton of fun to play and to listen to. An equal-opportunity chart, this arrangement for cello quartet divides the melodies and solos among all four players so everyone gets a chance to shine. Rated advanced for some upper thumb position and a few tricky rhythms - it's pretty much sightreadable for adult professionals, but for everyone else I recommend to work on it before performing. Why choose Cellobat Charts arrangements? For any musician who knows what they're doing, the answer is easy: just listen to them. Every freelance musician has thrown hard-earned money away on questionable, error-filled charts by unknown arrangers from weird corners of the Internet. But watch out -- inferior arrangements not only make gigs less enjoyable to play, but they also make your group sound bad to your client and audience, no matter how great your players really are. That's why Cellobat Charts is here: to provide students and working string players alike with high-quality versions of highly requested music. My arrangements are guaranteed to be energetic, fun to play, and enjoyable to listen to, whether or not you're familiar with the original songs. Hear the difference for yourself! Full videos of many Cellobat Charts arrangements are available on YouTube so you know exactly what you're getting. Click Watch near the item details at the top of the page for full video of Livin' On A Prayer. Crowd pleasing guaranteed. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1401614 Composed by Joseph Lamb. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. 20th Century,Classical,Historic,Ragtime. 32 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #984793. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1401614). Ragtime was originally and primarily piano music.  The Library of Congress traces the origin and wellspring of ragtime to St. Louis, Missouri.  The Britannica website explains, “Ragtime evolved in the playing of honky-tonk pianists along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers in the last decades of the 19th century. It was influenced by minstrel-show songs, African American banjo styles, and syncopated (off-beat) dance rhythms of the cakewalk, and also elements of European music.â€Â Â Â Â  But it wasn’t until the mid-1890s, when music publishers started printing ragtime scores, making the music available to the public at large, that ragtime’s popularity began to soar.  By 1900 ragtime was the popular music.  It stayed that way until about 1917 when the rise of jazz began to overtake it.  By 1920, ragtime was nearly forgotten.     Thirty years later, a ragtime revival began.  And one Patricia Lamb-Conn found out that her father, Joseph F. Lamb, was a well-known composer of ragtime.  In fact, the “Big Three†composers of classical ragtime are considered to be Scott Joplin, James Scott and the only non-African American, Joseph Lamb.     Lamb was born in 1887 in New Jersey, taught himself to play piano and was very much influenced by Joplin’s early ragtime publications.  From there, Lamb went on to develop into a master of classic ragtime.     One of Lamb’s most popular works was a 1916 composition he titled “Patricia Rag.†(The title apparently had nothing to do with his daughter, who was born in 1924.)  It consists of four themes in five sections, with the first theme repeated after sections 1 and 2.  Lamb pitched the opening in E-flat Major, changing to A-flat Major at the Trio.       This brass quintet arrangement, completed in 2024, consists of 150 measures, approximately five minutes, ten seconds in length.  It retains the basic structure of the original piano score but modifies the pitches to B-flat Major and E-flat Major, respectively, to accommodate the normal playing range of the brass instruments.  Possible exceptions for some players include:  (1) Trumpet 1 plays its A-above-the-staff a number of times and its B above-the-staff once; (2) Trombone plays several E above-the-staff notes; (3) Tuba plays several way-below-the-staff F notes and one high G note. Throughout the arrangement, the original melody is maintained and featured, but in some sections the background and harmony are altered to feature one or more of the five instruments.  In the Trio, the sections designated by rehearsal marks F and G are slowed and treated as a serenade; the original tempo is restored at H.  In performing this arrangement, players should pay particular attention to dynamics.  Additionally, because of the nature of ragtime, this piece may require more-than-usual practice and rehearsal.     The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge.  He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms.  Contact him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.  For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1463474 By Philip Le Bas. By Philip Le Bas. Arranged by Philip Le Bas. Chamber,Classical. 21 pages. Philip Le Bas #1042196. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1463474). A short, attractive fugue for wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon) by Philip Le Bas, inspired by and based on Hubert Parry's much-loved hymn Dear Lord and Father, whose melody is entitled Repton. The fugue's structure results from a fascinating online Fugue Writing course run by CityLit, London, which the composer attended in the first half of 2024. The course presents and explains the eighteenth-century ideas of a fully developed fugue, which culminated in J.S. Bach's extraordinary achievement, the Well Tempered Clavier, and which has been used in various forms by composers ever since. The fugal rules are here treated rather as guidelines in order to create a fugue more immediately appealing to 21st century listeners, but the piece attempts to maintain the general structure found in classic fugues. The initial subject is quirky and tuneful (in fact a bit of an ear-worm), but it immediately goes on to include counter-subjects, tonal answers, codettas, episodes, middle entries, inverted subjects, strettos, a pedal and a final entry, plus a relatively long coda in which Parry's original melody is celebrated exuberantly. These different sections and techniques are all labeled in the score to add an educational dimension to the composition. Those who know the composer's Repton Variations for wind sextet will recognise the opening and ending, at least in outline, but they will soon find the rest to be more technically developed, if rather less serious, from the very beginning! The piece lasts just under three minutes.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.999346 Composed by Dennis A. Westgate. Contemporary,Musical/Show,Pop,World. Octavo. 107 pages. Tyne Music #5871343. Published by Tyne Music (A0.999346). U. F. O. : Is my newest sci-fi full length modern play in the TYNE ONSTAGE series of original musicals. I wrote this specifically for the senior students of the Performing Arts. It has many leading parts for both sexes and has a hint of the 60-70 style of writing found in those musicals of the times but modern in context. The story line includes opportunities for many individual performances covering song and dance numbers, group singing, contemporary dance, dramatic interludes and strong comedy parts. This is an original story taking a humorous look at a possible visitation from our space neighbours. The story begins with the arrival of   GS2, an ‘Interstellar Space Surveyor’ on its mission to map this part of the Universe. Whilst reporting its position to the home base ‘Niva’, the surveyor informs them that one of the planets (Earth) appears to have intelligent life forms. On receiving this information Niva decides to dispatch a party of college students to study this unique planet, much to the annoyance of GS2 who take umbridge at being appointed, what he calls a Galactic Nanny! Events take a dramatic turn when the surveyor is called away on an ‘emergency rescue mission’ so has to beam the students down to planet Earth, where during transmutation, they are warned not to integrate with the population. But ‘students being students’ the consequences are both hilarious and profound. This album includes the Piano & Vocal Score along with the full Libretto. For full information please see my website:- https://www.tynemusic.com/u-f-oP.S. Owing to the high cost in orchestration The music is only available as a piano score with lyrics and chords. However this is reflected in the price. You would have to add your own instrumentation, but this would be an excellent opportunity for any up and coming senior student to take on.SONG TITLES 1)   Earthbound 2)   Hold the Front Page 3)   Sex Talk 4)   We’re In This Together 5)   The Annual Bazaar 6)   You Are Me 7)   Body Talk 8)   Bionic Love

I arrange songs for a wedding quartet and this is often chosen by the bride and groom for their special day. If you would like to watch a professional performance of this piece, visit my channel by typing Skinny Black Dogs, Capriccio Quartet, A Thousand Years, into Youtube. This arrangement is 4 mins long and in B flat major. It is not the easiest of keys for strings but neither is it the hardest. It needs lots of vibrato, especially for the first violin, and subtlety from the inner parts to make sure they are heard but do not overpower the melody. The excerpt is from the instrumental section in which I exercised a little creativity! I would think players would need to be ABRSM Grade 7 to be able to play this well, but I could be wrong! Send me a phone recording via Facebook. I would love to hear young people play this!

Small Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1515104 Composed by Connie Boss. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas. 106 pages. Connie Boss #1089606. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1515104). Everyone knows how special the star was for the birth of Jesus. The star guided many along the way to find the manger that Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby, Jesus were at. This cantata reflects the importance of the star during that time. Most of the songs have lyrics about the star.  The cantata starts off with Mary finding out from the angel that God chose her to bear his son - Ave Maria was redone for this advent moment. It keeps to the melody and Ave Maria words are still part of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics have the English translation in the song, while other lyrics are new for this Christmas song. The next song O Little Town of Bethlehem is where Mary and Joseph have to travel to pay their taxes and where     Jesus is born. This is where the star shines down for all to see.  This is the traditional song, but I have added extra lyrics at the end of each original verse. Next, the shepherds seeing the star decide to travel to Bethlehem. Pachelbel Canon is so iconic, but I have added lyrics from While Shepherds watched their flocks by night, Away in a Manger, What Child is This and The First Noel. The choir parts bring rich harmonies to the piece. The Angels said leave your sheep and leave your lambs. Rise up Shepherd and Follow. Now we are at the manger. I composed the song - A Little Baby. He was born to save us all. . Still, Still, Still “Tis the Night of Our Savior’s Birth has added lyrics to each verse that ties in with the original lyrics. The title of this cantata is They Saw A Star - this is from the song I composed with the same title. It not only brings in the shepherds, but also the Three Wisemen. To close out this cantata, I have used the lyrics from We Three Kings and the melody of Scarborough Fair. This arrangement has an SA duet with SSAA choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir.  I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie BossI didn't have a minimum copy, so you can make copies of this. This is why I have it priced at this price. For questions or requests, email Cdboss@cvalley.net.

Published by Abigail Gilson (A0.1024943).          The final piece in the three-part song cycle, the young girl has grown up and has taken on the role of a woman. The piece itself is very slow moving, as the woman’s life has significantly slowed down, she’s no longer the young girl filled with hope, she knows what her duty is. The piano itself is always rising, sometimes in major thirds but then followed by clunky seconds and thirds. With a feeling of rush but also as if the whole piece is about to end and resolve, yet it continues in this cycle. Still, there’s reward in her work, a woman gets to see her child grow, and their dreams become her own. As any woman can tell you, there is a reward to being a good mother, wife, and woman. But it is only one that a woman can recognize.

Published by Abigail Gilson (A0.1024938).          A Conversation is a duet that represents the feeling of falling in love. Starting off slow and daunting at first, with shifts and odd dynamics and rhythms as you just allow yourself to fall into this new feeling. Then, the piece takes off. With confusing chords, a ground bass but always a visible motet. The ground bass always sounds like it may rush, like any second the pianist could speed up and leave the other pianist behind but it never does. The voices often trade parts and dance back and forth. With the treble line taking off suddenly, ending the ground bass line. The last section has question chords, and unresolved lines as a relationship starts to lose the new lover buzz and falls into a steady rhythm. Some may feel that the relationship is ending, that the two pianos don’t sound the same as they used to together. But really the two pianos have found their music. They don’t need to experiment with different rhythms, keys, or time signatures. They know what sounds good together, they can continue to make music forever.

Tuba Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.991806 Composed by Jason Allie. Romantic Period,World. Individual part. 14 pages. Joaba LLC #3129601. Published by Joaba LLC (A0.991806). Description Total Duration: 11 minutes. A vigorous, advanced level work suitable for encouraging students, hobbyists and professionals to improve or show off their performance skills.  In an enjoyable and delightful manner, tubists will build dexterity, endurance, expressiveness, effective volume and range (going up to D/C# above the staff). This work will charm, captivate, and rouse/impress audiences.  A great recital piece or encore piece to show off the melodiousness, harmoniousness and vibrancy of the tuba in whole or in part.  Please send feedback, praises and more to contact@joaba.com. Performance Notes from the Composer Édesen Édesen translates to sweetly in Hungarian, and is this movement’s purpose: to be a centering, calming moment before the following tumult. The first 10 bars serve as an introduction to warm up to the melody. The melody has three contrasting articulations that must be respected: staccato, legato, and normal.  The melody easily leads to high and low range notes-excellent for beginner/intermediate tubists to expand and solidify their range.  Give more air for the range’s extremities so pitches don’t become too thin or muddled. The second theme in the dominant (E major) should be played with luscious legato and bright staccato. LassanLassan translates to slowly in Hungarian usually conveying stateliness or seriousness.  This argumentative movement breaks the former’s idyll and sets the case for the next movement’s defiance and victory. The first section is to be played serious and strong.  Increase air support for the higher pitches.  Make the descending scales resound and bounce off the lowest notes.  The second theme starting at 81 should be played with great charm and ease. For the solo passages, show-off but slow the tempo into the fermatas: (m77-80, m102-103, and m132-133). Friska Friska translates to fresh in Hungarian and in this case, it’s a duality of turbulence and final elation.Start the piece fast, but not too boisterous-embellishments are added in the repeat demanding boisterousness.  Epitomizing the turbulence, the con moto sections (at m161 & m260) emphasize a 1 beat per measure feel-accelerate the tempo as is comfortable.  The digressionary, crab-like sections (at m176 & m275) should be played as light as possible to help build up to the elated sections.  The first elated section (m188) should be played as if gleefully discovered but not yet won; the second elated section (m291), with a victorious finality that cannot be diminished or tarnished.
