Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862686 Arranged by Michael Bomier. 20th Century,Concert,Holiday,Love,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 4 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3692927. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862686). Gateway Editions has many popular but still difficult resettings of the Classical and Romantic literature for piano. We also have many genuinely simplified settings. Here is one such item. IF you know augmented and diminished chords, if you know duplets in a triple meter, and if you know how to play dissonances, you will not find this setting at all intimidating. If NOT, there is no finer music to learn them from, as SR used these backwards common-tone chord progressions throughout his music. Spellings have been used to make the identification of these elements as clear as possible. The dynamics indicate the Point of the piece, a key element in both SR's playing and his compositional approach. All here is Very accessible music. original key, not full-length. LH greatly reduced. Melody intact but limited in range. Harmony from the original, but in reduced voicings. MBB

Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.773335). This song has become an icon of remembrance of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. It is traditionally played on Holocaust Day, which is on the 28th day of the Hebrew month of Nissan in Israel, or January 27th in the rest of the world. Ani Maamin (I Believe): The words to this simple song are of the Jewish prayer I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah. The tune is attributed to Azriel David Festig, a leading Warsaw hazzan (cantor) who died in the Holocaust. The song was performed after the war by Rabbi Shaul Yedidia Eliezer Taub, the Admor (Rabbinical leader) of the Modzitz Hassidic sect, and has become the iconic song of the remembrance in the Hassidic community.  This is one of four songs for Holocaust Remembrance Day that I have arranged for string quartet. The set of songs is available for download at https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/four-songs-of-the-holocaust-arranged-for-string-quartet-digital... The other songs are  Unter Dyne Vyse Shteren (Under the Starry Sky) was written by Avraham Sutskover, a leading Yiddish poet, while trapped in the ghetto of Vilna, in July 1943. Shtiller Shtiller (Hush Hush) was written by Alexander Volkovitzky, then a 12-year-old boy, in the Vilna Ghetto in the spring of 1943.  Hatikva (the Hope) is Israel's national anthem. The words are by Naftali Zvi Imber, and the tune is a traditional eastern European tune. You are welcome to try some of my other arrangements. In addition to the songs offered on this site (you can see them at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=Yoel+Epstein ), I have arranged three songs from the Holocaust, which I arranged and distribute for free on IMSLP. You can find them at http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Ravpapa. If you need arrangements of any of these songs for special combinations of instruments, feel free to contact me, and I will try to accommodate. Write me at yoelepst@gmail.com.  Hope you enjoy.

Published by Gabriel Ruiz-Bernal (A0.1167680). Two Butterflies is a light, airy and ethereal waltz for soprano and piano that describes the flight of the two butterflies described in the poem by Emily Dickinson.  The soprano part is sensual and fun to sing, with melodic phraes and leaps that displays the flexibility of the voice.  The piano part is elaborate but not difficult to play.  This is a very effective recital piece, which tends to receive great reception from the audience. Two Butterflies is part of the song cycle Across the Wide.  Songs of Farewell composed by Gabriel Ruiz-Bernal.

Kevin G. Pace #1028528. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1448715). A collection of 17 songs, 157 pages (SATB Choir, TTBB Men’s Choir, vocal duets, and a vocal solo) addressing several of Christ’s attributes as we see them demonstrated during his mortal sojourn. Not all attributes are addressed, as there are far too many positive qualities of our Master, for He is perfect in every way. But, presented in this book of sacred songs, are several of his most noticeable attributes that can help us grow and learn as He would desire us to live. Some of these are patience, charity, submissiveness, healing, compassion, and more.We hope you will enjoy these original renditions and that each song will give each listener a sense of who we really worship, and how much hope we can have that through our Savior’s help we can each become closer and closer to Him. As we rely on his promises, may we follow His admonition to become “even as I am” (See 3 Nephi 27).

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746215 Composed by George Butterworth. Arranged by Michael Pilley. Classical. Score and parts. 122 pages. Michael Pilley Music #4331147. Published by Michael Pilley Music (A0.746215). The very lovely setting of A.E. Housman‘s poems by George Butterworth, reorchestrated for Chamber Wind Ensemble, was commissioned by the Maidstone Wind Symphony for their recent Concert of Remembrance entitled A Time For Peace.Composed in 1911 for baritone voice and piano, this collection of short pieces utilises poems from A.E. Housman’s A Shropshire Lad published in 1896. The words have been woven into a delicate and moving composition, with the emotions contained in the text expertly drawn out through use of dynamics and phrasing. The delicate nature of the original pieces has been kept, with the voices of the wind orchestra giving a new timbral twist to the music. The reality of growing up in wartime is prevalent in the theme of the music and is captured well by Butterworth’s original. There has been a few orchestral settings of these songs, but this arrangement is to be the first for wind band.Premiered by Martin Hindmarsh and a selection of the Maidstone Wind Symphony players, the performance was delicate and true to the original essence of the piano accompaniment. You can listen to a recording of their performance (whilst admittedly a poor quality) on the score video below.
