The bridge gets a little spicier with a jazz waltz feel and then expands back to a warmth before a final key change that turns into a big theatrical ending. This is sure to be a real crowd pleaser. The piano accompaniment is quite difficult but there are alternate passages included to simplify the most difficult passages. There is an optional BASS part included that would add to the performance. There is no drum part included, but a drummer could easily improvised from the Bass part which would add a lot as well. Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.915697 Composed by Early American Tune. Arranged by Richard Joseph Barber. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Barber Music Company #3879693. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915697). This piece lasts two minutes and nineteen seconds. John Newton, 1725 - 1807, author of Amazing Grace, also wrote, How Tedious and Tasteless the Hours. The hymn tune is GREEN FIELDS, and depending on the hymnal or other source in which you find it, opinions vary about who originally composed it. Most, I believe, will call it an Early American Melody, but some attribute it to J. S. Bach, and say that it is found in his Peasant Cantata. However, I listened to the entire Peasant Cantata recently to see if that true, and, although I did hear fragments in one aria that sounded reminiscent of GREEN FIELDS, it seems a bit of a stretch to me to say that the hymn tune has its original version in Bach's cantata. If someone can point me to the portion of the cantata where Bach gives us a clearly identifiable early version, I would be very appreciative. Bach is essentially my favorite composer, and I wouldn't mind attributing the origin of this and many other great melodies to him. -Richard Barber

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1120365 By Philip Le Bas. By J-B Lully / G Bizet. Arranged by Philip Le Bas. Christmas,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 8 pages. Philip Le Bas #721616. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1120365). A new arrangement by Philip Le Bas of a thirteenth century French Christmas carol from Provence harmonized by Jean-Baptiste Lully (1632-87, attrib.) and, more famously, by Georges Bizet (1838-75, in his L'Arlesienne Suite of 1872.) In France the melody is still tightly associated with Christmas, and French audiences start singing their own Christmas words whenever they hear the melody (the arranger has heard it himself!) The English translation used here is adapted from a variety of sources. The three kings (or more precisely the magi from St Matthew's gospel) are seen marching towards Bethlehem with their fantastic golden wealth and grandeur. But why are they going to see a low-born baby and why do they worship this child who will die on a cross? The organ sets the scene from the beginning with its marching accompaniment, and the first verse is sung in unison by all three parts. The second begins with a canon, as used by Bizet, and then breaks into harmony. The first section of the third verse is much quieter and legato, sung by the sopranos and altos, using wonderful chromatic harmonies based on another section from Bizet's suite. The lyrics express wonder at the beautiful music heard from the camp of the kings. The second section, sung in differentiated unison then begins to wonder why the kings stoop so low to a baby in a manger. Finally the fourth verse, sung in full harmony, returns to the marching accompaniment and reiterates the amazement of meeting these kings with their mysterious mission. The carol is aimed at parish choirs with limited resources, but a good organist. The melody is well-known, much of it is in unison, and other sections are relatively easy to sing. Care should however should be taken to sing the dotted rhythms accurately - this is what gives the carol its marching character.

SATB Chorus, Brass Quartet, and Percussion - Digital Download SKU: IZ.VMW228 Composed by William Bullock. Score and Parts. 13 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #VMW228. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMW228). 9 x 12 inches.“Paris Without You is a piece for solo tenor saxophonist and orchestra with jazz quartet accompaniment. By way of introduction of the piece, in 2012, I met my wife, and very early on we had different trips planned. I was going to visit family and Cindy was going back to Paris, a place she had visited many times. So it was that we were almost literally a world apart. Upon both our returns, Cindy shared her many photos of Paris with me, a place I have never been. These photos were but a few that really made an impression on me and made me feel almost as I were there, even though Cindy was there (in one of the most romantic places in the world) as musicians would say, “solo. So the title of this piece suggests a telling of the story in pictures from her perspective. In performing this piece, it is preferable to have a tenor saxophonist who is equally comfortable in an orchestral setting as in a jazz quintet setting. Though all the jazz quintet parts are very specifically written, with either chord voicings and suggested solos, there is room for improvisation in these parts, but using a keen ear and direction to know when to align properly with the orchestra. In my recording of this piece, Maynard Ferguson Band alumni, Andy Weinzler is the featured tenor saxophonist. Many Western New York musicians came together to record this piece, and I thank them all for their incredible musicianship and willingness to perform this piece.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.504500 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by David A. Riethmiller. Baroque,Classical,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 21 pages. David A. Riethmiller #116291. Published by David A. Riethmiller (A0.504500). This is the complete set of parts for a brass quintet arrangement of J.S. Bach’s chorale Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme. The chorale was a 3-voice prelude modeled on part of Bach's earlier cantata by the same name, first performed in November 1731. The cantata was in turn is based on the hymn Wake, Awake, for Night is Flying, written by the German Lutheran pastor, composer, and lyricist Philipp Nicolai in 1598, which is typically used during the end-of-year or Advent season. This arrangement is intended for a brass quintet of varying skill level; the Trumpet 1 part does not exceed a brief high G, but an optional Piccolo Trumpet is available. The three voices of the chorale are purposely divided among the five brass parts, to avoid fatigue in any one part. The bass part is taken by the Euphonium player, assumed to have a four-valve instrument accommodating several lower notes, but a Tuba may also be substituted, one octave below written.
