Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1400597 By Jethro Tull. By Ian Anderson. Arranged by Cheryl Camm. 20th Century,Christmas,Folk,Rock. 15 pages. Seapieparcel #983794. Published by seapieparcel (A0.1400597). This lively song for either the winter or summer solstice seasons is arranged here for SATB choir with piano accompaniment and percussion. We have found that it sounds perfectly well without the piano and most of the percussion, but the hand-claps are essential! Hand claps in the audience work well (although they tend to need visual guidance!), and once we sang it with sleigh bells distributed around the audience to help with the middle eight! The Youtube video of this song here is a live performance with no percussion or piano, but the audience join in happily with the clapping...with increasing accuracy!

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553762 Composed by Domenico Gallo. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Baroque,Holiday. Score and parts. 16 pages. RayThompsonMusic #4267155. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553762). This music was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication and also arranged by Hugo Riemann, and again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi. It is actually made up of 3 different pieces: Gallo's 2nd Trio Sonata in Bb. Mvts I and III, and Trio Sonata No 8 in Eb All 3 Gallo mvts were used by Igor Stravinsky in the 3rd mvt. Scherzinoof his Neo Classical Pulcinella Suite. The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. But even though Stravinsky used Pergolesi's(which were in this case Gallo's) melodies and bass lines with little change, he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications. These are transcriptions of the original pieces, in their original keys. They are interesting to play and  do not sound too dissimilar to Stravinsky's final work.Arranged string trio with alternative violin 2 for viola.

Baroque. 8 pages. RayThompsonMusic #1036444. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1457421). Arranged wind quintetThe original baroque music used by Igor Stravinsky for his ballet Pulcinella was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were so described in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication. They were also arranged later by Hugo Riemann, and were again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi. However Most of the original music is by Domenico Gallo (including the Finale of the suite), one or two are by Giovanni Pergolesi (including the Menuetto)The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. This is the original music he used as the basis of the Minuetto/Finale.But even though Stravinsky used Gallo's and Pergolesi's melodies and bass lines with little change in the earler movements of the Suite he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications. However in the Menuetto and Finale he changes things considerably, with more dischordant harmonies and rhythm changes. My arrangement is of the the original two pieces:My arrangement  uses Gallo's/Pergolesi's classical/baroque harmonies.Check out my other arrangements of other music used by Stravinsky in his Pulcinella Suite.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1003947 Composed by Faith Angelina. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 3 pages. Faith Angelina Music #3141419. Published by Faith Angelina Music (A0.1003947). From twelve year old composer Faith Angelina off her debut album Reaching 12 (available at FaithAngelina.com).  This song was a turning point for me as I looked for help from my destructive feelings and found the love and support that was always within my reach.  - Faith Angelina It was August 8th, 2016, when Faith’s mother found the suicide note left on her minivan.  It was a heart stopping moment.  The type that slows down time and changes all priorities and perspectives.  On the front side of the paper it said, PLEASE READ in big letters.  On the back was the following… Dear Mom, I am writing this to inform you about something I didn’t have the strength to tell you in person.  I have depression.  I know you think that we all go through a stage where we are sad it’s true, but this is not the case.  I thought that I just had a sad time too until I realized I had been thinking about killing myself many times.  I know that this is hard to hear but I felt it was important to tell you something I had been holding back for 5 years.  I hope you can think of me the same after this note, and know that me thinking about killing myself is NOT your fault. Love,  Faith   After an immediate trip to the doctor, it was discovered that Faith didn’t have clinical depression but that she suffered from a hormonal imbalance in her body.  She had been waking up in the middle of the night over half of her young life and wandering around while the rest of the family slept.  With a small prescription, and lots of love, Faith headed off to start middle school and a magical year that would follow. Shortly after this experience, Faith composed a new song called Finding Hope and finished up on three others she had been working on.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1029561 Composed by Peter Daniel Klein. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 13 pages. Peter Daniel Klein #6401141. Published by Peter Daniel Klein (A0.1029561). This musical piece is comprised of two twelve-tone rows, atonal music based on synthetic scales unique to each composition, which are based on medieval plainsong chants whose systemization was begun by Pope Gregory I during the sixth century AD.  A simple explanation of this composition is that it is the world's oldest notated music combined with modern 20th-century music theory that eschews traditional melody and harmony for synthetic scales unique to each composition. The music is complex and dissonant, although the conversion of the two plainsong chants to twelve-tone rows retains a semblance of a tonal center at given points throughout. Still, the entire piece of music is that same melody utilized harmonically: just forward, backward, upside-down, backward and upside-down, rhythmically altered, transposed, displaced up or down, or split into smaller cells and then reprocessed in the same way mentioned above. I have also borrowed the Baroque Period techniques of the two-part invention and four-voice fugue combined with serial musical techniques that may offend the average listener's traditional musical sensibilities but make logical structural sense. I used the Dies Irae (The Day of Wrath) and Tuba Mirum (The Last Trumpet Call). The authorship of the chants has been attributed to many saints from Gregory to Thomas of Celano but probably evolved from early Jewish psalmody carried forward by the earliest Jewish converts to Christianity, which further developed into trochaic metered poetry by successive monks. It was set to memorized plainsong heralding back, in part, to Jewish worship. The text of the Dies Irae is very similar to Zephaniah 1:16. The last trumpet call that raises the dead in Christ is comparable to the Apostle Paul's account written in his first epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 15 and first epistle to the Thessalonians Chapter 4. The two epistles may, or may not, be related to the Final of the Seven Trumpets bringing God's Judgement on the earth spoken of in Revelation 11. The relationship of the trumpet mentioned in the epistles to those written about in Revelation divides theologians, but I digress into unrelated matters. Despite the modern theory, the music is still movingly visceral because of its conceptually descriptive nature. It is full of aural symbolism following the Dies Irae and the Tuba Mirum, making it a type of program music ala Hector Berlioz of the Romantic Period. The music is, therefore, genuinely eclectic because it has blended qualities of several musical periods. The final section of the video explains the symbolism. The music difficulty is virtuosic, extremely taxing to play.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749225 By Bob Dylan. By Bob Dylan. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Pop,R & B. Score and parts. 16 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #5010869. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749225). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH_dlB9pK0IBritish singer-songwriter Adele recorded Make You Feel My Love for her debut studio album 19 in 2008. As it is such a popular hit I was surprised to find that the original was by Bob Dylan, from the album ‘Time out of Mind’ from 1997, and also that it has been covered many times by different artists. In writing this for string quartet, I have given the melody to viola and cello as well as first violin, and mostly made use of the harmony in Adele’s version of the song, adding a few dissonances to spice it up a bit. I also include an expansive string interlude section with some double stopping for the viola. The performance is by Capriccio Quartet, who play for weddings, seasonal events and parties in England.Although this quartet is suitable for professional musicians, young players will also be able to manage it with a few adaptations. Firstly, the key of G is a an easy one for strings. The cellist will need to be able to play in fourth position, but only on the A string, and the tempo is slow. There is some double stopping for the viola in the string interlude, but it includes an open G, which can also be left out altogether without losing much harmonic tension. The bowing is a guide only, so take as many bows as make you feel comfortable and use the open strings wherever you need.Let me know if you perform it, and send me any recordings as I love to hear them, especially those from young players. You can find me at my Youtube Channel, Helen Marple-Horvat, Songwriter, Arranger and Composer. There are lots of arrangements played by Capriccio Quartet to be viewed there and All but three of them are available from Sheet Music Plus.https://smppress.sheetmusicplus.com/p/manage-products/217069/edit

Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749238). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnga6ib32RgBritish singer-songwriter Adele recorded Make You Feel My Love for her debut studio album 19, in 2008. As it is such a popular hit I was surprised to find that the original was by Bob Dylan, from the album ‘Time out of Mind’ from 1997, and also that it has been covered many times by different artists. Why choose my arrangement?I have arranged the piano part to follow the original very closely, transposed into G Major, as I also want to be able to play it in gigs with my daughter who is a singer. As such I have made the piano part to lie under the fingers, making sure the clefs are easy to read. I have also included a ‘piano only’ score as it falls onto three pages, and is convenient for performing, as well as the two piano scores with each violin version. Some of the harmony is slightly changed, and I composed my own bridge passage with hints at the original. Also Adele sings a quite dissonant G in the melody, against the F sharps in some of the verses. Personally I love this, but it would need to be played subtly, and the clash is less obvious in the less dense sonority of a vocal part, so I have left this option open by notating the safer version, and suggesting the dissonance rather than the other way around. On the video is an example of both.I also include a bonus ‘Easy Violin’ Part that younger players will enjoy, or perhaps the pupils of those who buy the professional level arrangement. It requires some simple shifts in the Chorus and Bridge section. However, there are some places where an open ‘A’ could slip by unobtrusively in quaver passages too. Feel free to take as many bows as you need and don’t feel bound by my bowing suggestions. I have changed my mind many times! Just do what feels comfortable and enjoy it. Some places I have left out bowing altogether eg Bar 27 where you can experiment or discuss with your teacher.Adele sings the original at 72 bpm but I think you could certainly go as high as 76 bpm without losing that mournful quality, and it will help young players with their bowing. My Youtube Channel has many of my arrangements for String Quartet, recorded by the Worcestershire, UK ‘Capriccio Quartet’, as well as many songs for instrument and piano. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1372061). You’ve searched far and wide for a perfect concert opener (or “re-opener†after an intermission) to no avail. Well, Valsa Brasiliense/Brasília Waltz may be just the ticket! The term Brasiliense refers to the residents of Brasília the federal capital of Brazil. But, the original builders of the city (1958-1961) in the serrana plateau of the country, 1,000 miles into the interior came to be called “candangos.â€Â The waltz  introduction sets a largely consistent pattern of syncopated accompaniment followed by the melody in 2nd violin/viola and then all the violins. Cellos help glide the melody along until they are featured in middle section, a great feature opportunity for the section as a whole or for your principal cellist. Note that even though it lies high, that the register is not extreme. The basses propel the forward motion of the piece and contribute mightily to the surprise ending. And, that part may be played by cello or small contingent of cellos in lieu of contrabasses. Its scant 2:30 in duration also makes it nice finale for an evening with your premiere string ensemble. String orchestra/string quintet   Included are: Score, Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Violoncello, Contrabass (Cello 2)© 2020 ADDG/Publicações Serrana e Candango, Ltd..All rights reserved. Chamber,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter,Wedding. 6 pages. Yoel Epstein #958476. Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.1373931). Well, the truth is that I am 75. But I wrote this when I was (only) 64, as a kind of birthday present to myself. I was 18 years old when this song came out, sung by the band that shook the world of music. It has been ringing in my head ever since. Things for violin and tuba are pretty rare, so I hope you enjoy playing this arrangement as much as I enjoyed writing it. You can see my other stuff at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=Yoel+Epstein. I have also arranged three songs from the Holocaust, which I arranged and distribute for free on IMSLP. You can find them at http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Ravpapa.
