I recomend you listen to the recording for more inspiration regarding this synthesizer sounds.  The iconic lead synthesizer part is also written as a solo-like muted 2. trumpet.  This part can easily be excluded if you perfers a solo synthesizer instead.The arrangement has a very basic written drum part, but listening to the recording, you'll hear that the drummer plays very freely on the hi-hat.  The arrangement has no percussion part, but adding a percussionist playing freely on triangle, cow bells, woodblocks etc., will add valuable contribution to the final result.
