Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402823 Composed by Daniel Alomia Robles, Jorge Milchberg, and Paul Simon. Arranged by Alan Frazer (arranger) & Peet du Toit (orchestrator). Folk. 10 pages. Peet du Toit #986049. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1402823). This song started out as an Andean folk melody that Paul Simon came across in 1969 when he played a week-long engagement at a theater in Paris along with the South American group Los Incas, who played an instrumental version of the song called Paso Del Condor. Said Simon: I used to hang around every night to hear them play that. I loved it and I would play it all the time, and then I thought, Let's put words to it.The Peruvian songwriter Daniel Robles recorded this song in 1913, and copyrighted it in the United States in 1933 during his travels in America. When Simon recorded it with his added lyrics, he thought it was a traditional song, as that's what Los Incas told him. When Robles' son filed a lawsuit, Simon had to give Robles a composer credit on the song, with his estate getting those royalties. In discussing the song, Simon always talks about it as being based on a traditional Peruvian song, and we've never heard him mention Robles. This wasn't the first time Simon got tangled over songwriting credits on traditional melodies: Simon & Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair / Canticle was based on a folk song, but his arrangement came from a singer named Martin Carthy. Simon was always clear on his influences, but legal misunderstandings were a problem in these cases.Los Incas, who were the group that introduced Simon to the song, provided the instrumentation when they recorded it in Paris with Simon. Their leader, Jorge Milchberg, played a charango, which is an Andean string instrument made from the shell of an armadillo. Simon played acoustic guitar, and other members of Los Incas played flutes and percussion. When Simon brought the track to America, he added his lyrics. This was one of the easier songs to record for the Bridge Over Troubled Water album, since the backing track was already mixed together - it was just a matter of adding the vocals. The title translates to English as The Condor Passes. The lyrics Robles wrote to the song in 1913 are about returning home to his native Peru.Los Incas leader Jorge Milchberg got a composer credit on this song along with Simon and Robles. Milchberg later became the head of the group Urubamba and remained friends with Simon, who toured with them and produced their first American album. >>The Wainwright Sisters covered this for their 2015 Songs in the Dark album. Lucy Wainwright Roche explained to The Sun: I chose 'El Condor Pasa' because it was one of the first songs I ever learned to play on it guitar and it has a childlike quality to it, but it also has a darkness and sadness that fit in well with the album.Paul Simon performed this on both Sesame Street (in 1977) and The Muppet Show (in 1980).

Of mixed-race descent, Coleridge-Taylor achieved such success that he was referred to by white musicians in New York City as the African Mahler when he had three tours of the United States in the early 1900s. He was particularly known for his three cantatas on the epic 1855 poem The Song of Hiawatha by American Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This melodic and challenging work is suitable advanced intermediate players, or for players of a ABRSM Grade 8 standard and above.  The PDF contains the piano score and the solo part.

Alto Saxophone,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548508 Composed by Wade. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3388099. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548508). O Come All Ye Faithful arranged with new harmony for the final verse. Score: 3 pages. Part: 1 pageO Come, All Ye Faithful O Come, All Ye Faithful is an English translation of the Latin Christmas carol Adeste Fideles. No one knows exactly who wrote it, but one theory is that it was originally composed by King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656) and revised by John F. Wade and John Reading. Nowadays, we usually attribute it to John Wade. The oldest manuscript from 1751, is owned by Stonyhurst College in Lancashire. Lyrics The English translation O Come, All Ye Faithful was certainly written by Frederick Oakeley, a Catholic priest in 1841. This translation is the most common in English speaking states. To begin with, the hymn had only four verses.  Later, the verses grew to eight. Often, various verses are omitted because otherwise, the song is just too long. Some believe the first Latin lyrics were written by St. Bonaventure (13th century) or King John IV of Portugal in the 17th.  Though others think it was written by the Cistercian monks.   King John IV King John IV of Portugal was called The Musician King. He became king in 1640. In addition to performing the duties of a king, he was also a composer and music journalist. King John built a very large music library. Unfortunately, the library was ruined in 1755 because of the massive earthquake of Lisbon. In addition to his library, the king started a Music School that produced many accomplished musicians. The king also worked diligently to get instrumental music approved by the Vatican for use in his churches. Aside from his authorship of Adeste Fideles, he is famous for another popular choral setting of the Crux Fidelis, a prevalent Lenten hymn. Performance in Context As mentioned above, verses are sometimes left out because all eight verses would take too long to perform. More to the point though, some of the verses may be unsuitable for whatever of the church calendar they are intended. The eighth verse deals with the Epiphany, so it makes sense to sing this on Epiphany Sunday, but not other Sundays. Similarly, other verses are used according to whether the event is Midnight Mass or regular daytime Mass.

With Individual Parts. Enjoy it!This file DOES NOT contain Full Score. Individual Parts only.Giuseppe Tommaso Giovanni Giordani (1751 - 1798) was an Italian composer, mainly of opera. Giordani's parents were Domenico Giordani and Anna Maria Tosato. He studied music in Naples with Domenico Cimarosa and Niccolò Antonio Zingarelli. In 1774 he was appointed as music director of the chapel of the Duomo of Naples. His first opera (L'Epponina) was released in 1779. His sacred drama La distruzione di Gerusalemme was a notable success at the Teatro San Carlo of Naples in 1787. He became maestro di cappella at the Cathedral of Fermo in 1791. Until recently, the popular aria Caro Mio Ben (1783) was ascribed to Giuseppe Tommaso Giovanni Giordani. However, scholars now consider Tommaso Giordani, or his father Giuseppe Giordani senior, more likely to be the aria's composer. For Tutorials, Play Alongs or request New Arrangements, visit the YouTube Channel: Sheet Music To Play

Solo Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.899138 Composed by A. Scriabin. Arranged by Rod Whittle. 20th Century. Individual part. 1 pages. Maggie Creek Music #4349093. Published by Maggie Creek Music (A0.899138). for solo classical guitar (tremolo)  3 pp (4 min.)Alexander Scriabin 1872-1915 Some relevant facts about Scriabin are: He was Russian – he was born and died in Moscow. He was a child prodigy of the piano, and a great admirer of Chopin. His piano and orchestral compositions are finely crafted, the latter uniting aesthetics with religion. Both are naturally laced with the Russian temperament, and show an embrace of the harmonic revolution of his time. The prelude (Op.9 No.1) is an early piece exhibiting Scriabin's melodic flair. It's form is a kind of condensed sonata – ABA with a coda. The 'B' section of roving, moderately distant, harmonies, and the 'coda' with its binding bass line are equal to the theme, as they should be. I am very fond of the tremolo style, and here it highlights the marvelous counterpoint of the piece.

Euphonium - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1112872 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 44 pages. Regis Bookshar #714828. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1112872). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Euphonium Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Euphonium Octet, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, and also to give them the chance to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (44 pages) written in Bass Clef. There is also a version written in Treble Clef if you prefer. The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Euphonium Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Violin and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7068 Composed by Henri Vieuxtemps. This edition: Sheet music. Violin Library. Downloadable. Op. 32/2. Schott Music - Digital #Q7068. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7068). In the time of travelling violin virtuosos in the 19th century, the Belgian composer Henri Vieuxtemps was regarded as one of the 'greatest', next to Paganini, Spohr, Bériot, Wieniawski and others. His concert tours led him to the 'new world' and through Europe to Russia where he lived in Petersburg for a few years and founded the violin class at the local conservatoire. His most important pupil - after his return to his Belgian home country - was Eugène Ysaÿe. As a composer, he had written compositions mainly, though not exclusively for 'his' instrument, the violin. He also wrote concertos and chamber music, especially catchy salon music repertoire pieces such as his Rondino, a virtuoso piece with a soulful middle section - a real treat as an encore!

Sheet Music To Play Editions #779743. Published by Sheet Music To Play Editions (A0.1179794). O Mio Babbino Caro by Puccini. Arrangement for Violin and Piano. With Full Score and Individual Parts. Enjoy it!Giacomo Puccini (1858 - 1924) was an Italian composer known primarily for his operas. Regarded as the greatest and most successful proponent of Italian opera after Verdi, he was descended from a long line of composers, stemming to the late-Baroque era. Though his early work was firmly rooted in traditional late-19th-century Romantic Italian opera he later developed his work in the realistic verismo style, of which he became one of the leading exponents. His most renowned works are La bohème (1896), Tosca (1900), Madama Butterfly (1904), and Turandot (1924), all of which are among the most frequently performed and recorded of all operas. For Tutorials, Play Alongs or request New Arrangements, visit the YouTube Channel: Sheet Music To Play
