Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782235 Composed by William Byrd. Arranged by James Haynor. Praise & Worship,Renaissance,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 32 pages. James Haynor #3882793. Published by James Haynor (A0.782235). William Byrd (birth date variously given as c.1539/40 or 1543 – 4 July 1623), was an English composer of the Renaissance. He wrote in many of the forms current in England at the time, including various types of sacred and secular polyphony, keyboard (the so-called Virginalist school), and consort music. Although he produced sacred music for Anglican services, sometime during the 1570s he became a Roman Catholic and wrote Catholic sacred music later in his life. Libera me, Domine written for five voices is a great example of his work and transcribes well for brass quintet. ( Duration 6:30 )

Alto Saxophone,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.971650 Composed by Jeffrey Hoover. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and part. 25 pages. Musicart Publications #4628067. Published by Musicart Publications (A0.971650). Ruby and Steel (duration 7 min.) is a fantasy work for alto saxophone and piano, reflecting on the physical qualities and contrasts between an unlikely pairing of materials – nature's precious gemstone ruby and the manmade material steel. The ideas of the red glow of molten steel and the red light of ruby are held in common. Establishing a modern yet Romantic atmosphere, an extended piano solo opens the work. The music is developed through a thematic transformation process: gestures of earlier music reappears as transformations of its previous selves. The interaction (both musical dialogue and subsequent agreement) between piano and saxophone is a prominent characteristic, along with ebb-and-flow of tempo. As with several other compositions by Jeffrey Hoover, there is an abstract painting–Ruby and Steel–created by Hoover as a visual interpretation of the musicJeffrey Hoover's work– music ranging from soloist to symphony orchestra –has received recognition through the prestigious Trieste prize, awards from Mu Phi Epsilon, the Lancaster Fine Arts Festival, grants, publications fellowships and more than 20 commissions. He is a member of the ACME roster of Mu Phi Epsilon, recognized for distinguished achievement as a composer. One unique aspect of Hoover’s work is when he combines composition with his paintings, creating synergetic art that intrigues and captivate audiences and performers alike. His paintings are seen in exhibitions and in concerts where his paintings are projected while musicians perform his music. Whether making interdisciplinary works, or traditional stand-alone sonic or visual art, Hoover shapes his work through inner vision and practical experience. Jeffrey Hoover’s background as a performer includes both classical and jazz music, as saxophonist and conductor. His book The Arts and Society: Making New Worlds is published by Kendall Hunt Publishing.Jeffrey Hoover was born on September 11, 1959, in Anderson, Indiana. He holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts (Composition and Interdisciplinary Fine Arts) from Texas Tech University, as well as a M.M. and Bch.Sc. from Ball State University. Treble recorder and basso continuo; cello ad libitum - easy to intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q15848 Composed by Benedetto Marcello. This edition: Sheet music. Original Music for Recorder. Downloadable. Op. 2/7. Schott Music - Digital #Q15848. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q15848). Key: B flat major.Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739) comes from an old patrician family in Venice. He received his musical education first at home from his father who gave him his first violin lessons, and later from Francesco Gasparini who taught at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice. The 'nobile Veneto dilettante di contrappunto', as he called himself to point out that he did not regard music as his main profession, wrote and published a vast number of vocal and instrumental works. His flute sonatas, twelve well elaborated compositions, which make rewarding musical and technical demands on lovers of the flauto dolce, were printed several times during their creator's lifetime. This new edition contains the text of the clearly improved edition by E. Roger instead of the Venetian first edition.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1397300 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mark R. Fotheringham. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. 10 pages. Kevin G. Pace #980616. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1397300). A gorgeous choral composition with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mark R. Fotheringham.Text:Jesus was a humble man, who prayed to God each day. On His knees before the throne of grace, He sought the way. He spoke as one who knew His God, both faith and knowledge sure, Reaching out to seek His will with heart and spirit pure. His simple words belied the strength and power of his prayer, Which e'er sought to lift and bless all others who were there. His voice would bring on tears of joy from those who knew The Son, Asking Father's blessing that His friends with Him be One. He might ask for miracles to heal or raise the dead. When compassion filled his heart, to prayer His heart was lead. His gratitude would overflow and God's pow'r was revealed. Giving glory unto God, the gift on Him was sealed. May the prayers of Christ be heard and pondered in each heart, Helping us to lift and bless, in service do our part. Then lift our voices unto God, His will to seek and do. Humble prayer, like Christ our Lord's, will lead us straight and true.

Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110938 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 28 pages. Regis Bookshar #713204. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1110938). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Saxophone Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Saxophone Sextet, consisting of 5 Alto Saxophones and 1 Baritone Saxophone, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (28 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Saxophone Sextet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Piano,Viola - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013046 Composed by David E. Boelzner. Christian,Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred. Score and part. 9 pages. David E Boelzner #5898963. Published by David E Boelzner (A0.1013046). Abraham’s Walk is a reflection, for viola and piano, of the dramatic biblical story of God calling on Abraham to demonstrate his faith by sacrificing his son, Isaac. The beginning sets a peaceful mood with a quiet modal tune, first in piano and then viola, but somber chords intervene.  Then God calls to Abraham three times, each time louder, the last time thunderously.  After a pause, the viola captures Abraham’s stunned and then agitated response, as he processes what he’s being asked to do.  Tragically resolved, he begins the trudging walk to his son’s doom, which builds to a climax in both instruments, culminating in God’s calling again to Abraham, this time to stay his knife hand.
