As revealed in his album liner notes, Gold wrote Never Let Her Slip Away about meeting actress and Saturday Night Live cast member Laraine Newman, who was his girlfriend when he composed the song; Dave Grohl of the rock band Foo Fighters called the song the most beautiful piece of music ever written, and maybe one of the most melodically sophisticated songs I've ever heard in my entire life. Parry set these famous words to music in his great unison song Anthem in 1916. The poem was inspired by the apocryphal story that young Jesus actually traveled to England, a legend in the Book of Revelation describing a New Jerusalem. The song was also taken up by the Suffragettes in 1917. The song was changed to Jerusalem as a metaphor, that when Britain was made perfect, there would be heaven on earth. The work is considered to be England's most popular patriotic song. The music has been taken up by the Church of England and is frequently sung as a recessional hymn on St. George's Day. Most recently the song was used in the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton to great applause. Mr. Terrett's version can be performed by advanced players. The first part is in alto clef.

A fun and uplifting song, fairly easy to sing (easy range) for choir or worship team. The congregation will catch on quickly, upon hearing it presented as special music. An excellent song for youth groups. The score of the vocals, piano, strings and drums, and a lead sheet with chord symbols is included. A piano only score is also included. Vocals are often unison, but at times, have two to three parts briefly, for emphasis -. similar to many worship team presentations. However, the song will sound quite good all unison, all the time, if necessary. The music is a tiny bit jazzy with swing rhythms on the eighth notes. Nice jazzy A Men ending. This is an original setting of the 14th Century Eucharistic Latin chant text attributed to Pope Innocent VI.  It is most appropriate for church choirs to sing during communion service, especially during Lent.  It is also appropriate for concert performance by choruses/choirs of students, amateur adults or professionals.  Here is an English translation of the text: Hail, true body, born of the Virgin Mary, having truly suffered, sacrificed on the cross for mankind, from whose pierced side flowed water and blood, be for us a foretaste (of heaven) in the test of death.  O sweet Jesus, O holy Jesus, O Jesus, son of Mary, have mercy on us.  Amen.  There are many settings of this text by well-known composers including W.A. Mozart and William Byrd.  This setting, like that of Byrd, is for unaccompanied voices, but is written in the homophonic texture and uses a few more modern harmonies.  Performance time is approximately 2:24.
