Mixed choir (SABar) - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6911 Composed by Paul Hindemith. This edition: choral score. Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Schott Music - Digital #Q6911. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6911). German.Singing, especially singing in small groups, is a valuable and even the most natural musical activity - that is what Paul Hindemith (1895-1963) firmly believed: 'Everybody has got a voice ... A choir is the least demanding and at the same time best educational tool.' And that is why singing had always been part of his teaching activities, be it while trying and practising musical-theoretical tasks, be it while rehearsing old and modern choral settings. No wonder that the composer had dealt with choral music all his life, addressing himself to all different kinds of vocal ensembles: to mixed choirs, male-voice and children's choirs, professional choirs and trained singers. He developed his a-cappella style during his training with Arnold Mendelssohn and Bernhard Sekles at the Hoch Conservatoire in Frankfurt. As a consequence, the sketch books from his student days also contain three-part vocal settings on cantus firmi. The sacred choral works presented here (1. Christus, der ist mein Leben, 2. Erhalt uns, Herr, bei deinem Wort, 3. Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, 4. Gott des Himmels) are not only interesting as compositional studies, but also as sonorous and catchy choral music which can be easily performed by any good church choir.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019365 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 10 pages. Kevin Longley #6344809. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019365). With My HeartInspiration In 2012 my wife suggested we attend a church service at a Catholic church in town called Holy Cross. It was unclear as to where this came from; my wife has never been one to attend church services. I agreed though I was puzzled. On our first attendance what caught my ear was the beautiful sounds coming from the choir. There was a choir director playing the piano and singing soprano, one alto, one tenor and one bass. They sounded quite good especially the director; she had studied at Julliard and there were several other choir members who were trained musicians. It was only a few months later that I found myself singing with the choir during lent. From this experience was born With All My Heart, written for the Holy Cross choir. The Music The music is upbeat, contemporary, with lyrics modified from Psalm 103. Completed in 2013, it was my first church piece in a dozen years. A simple structure of ABABCB with a soloist for the C section. Program Notes I thank God for leading my wife to this church as it lead to my resumption of singing for the Lord and continued composing of church music to this day in 2021.

Piano,Voice Duet Piano,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.741860 Composed by Alessandro Scarlatti. Arranged by John Ross. Baroque,Opera. 4 pages. John Ross #3447535. Published by John Ross (A0.741860). Alessandro Scarlatti's O Cessate di Piagarmi from his 1683 opera Pompeo is a favourite of singers and singing teachers, being one of the early Italian arias often used in vocal tuition.  This arrangement adds a second soloist, providing a decorative balancing part to the original aria's melodic line. Scarlatti repeats his melody line in the original aria. In this arrangement it is shared between the singers - soloist 1 singing it the first time, with soloist 2 singing a second part. On the repeat the singers swap roles. In this way each singer has the main tune once during this arrangement.  There are additional decorations and ornaments in the repeated version. Creating a duet from a solo aria gives singers the chance to participate in some vocal chamber music and add another dimension to their performance skills.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1491580 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christmas,Historic,Holiday,Traditional. 13 pages. Jmsgu3 #1068280. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1491580). Here We Come A-Wassailing is a traditional English Christmas carol with roots that likely extend back to the mid-19th century, if not earlier. The exact authorship of the carol is unknown. The song is associated with the tradition of wassailing, which involves going door-to-door singing in exchange for food and drink. This practice predates Christianity and was part of mid-winter celebrations. The term wassail originates from the Anglo-Saxon greeting waes hael, meaning be in good health. This greeting evolved into a toast, with one person saying was hail and another responding drinc hail while passing around a communal bowl of a drink made from mulled ale or mead, spices, and apples, known as wassail. Wassailing has two primary forms: one that occurs post-Christmas, often associated with Twelfth Night, and another that takes place before Christmas. The latter involves singing carols and sharing wassail from a bowl. At the same time, the former includes rituals to encourage fertility in orchards, such as singing to trees and offering cider-soaked toast. The carol Here We Come A-Wassailing has several variations, including Here We Come A-Caroling and Here We Come A-Christmasing, each with different lyrics but similar themes of merriment and well-wishing for the New Year.
