Small Ensemble Piano,Violin,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955811 Composed by Manuel M. Ponce. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. 20th Century,Concert,Holiday,Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. Scott S. Stewart #6088787. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955811). In 1912 Mexican composer Manuel M. Ponce traveled to Aguascalientes on vacation and spent an evening looking at the starry night. This inspired him to compose the words and music for the song, Estrellita (Star of Love/Little Star/Petit Astre/Stellina).  The text ‘Star from far away, you know about my love and my suffering…’ has been speculated by many that these lyrics are Ponce’s sentimental expressions for his beloved Mexico as a little star… ‘Because I cannot live without his love.’ Or, it is widely held that the lovely melody of Estrellita came to Ponce in a moment of inspiration while spending a romantic evening with his wife… either scenario could be true.  In 1923 violinist Jascha Heifetz was in Mexico City and realized he didn’t have any work by a Mexican composer on his program.  While in a café, he heard a local musician sing the popular song Estrellita and noted its title on a napkin. Estrellita became one of his favorite encore songs ever since. Scored for solo violin, tenor and piano this trio runs 2:59.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955857 Composed by Jacques Offenbach. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. Concert,Opera,Romantic Period. Octavo. 11 pages. Scott S. Stewart #6476035. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955857). As in The Student Prince and Faust the main character arrives at a tavern packed with students who probably should be studying, but instead they are setting the scene for the real drama… In Les Contes d’Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann) a lively drinking song opens the scene at Luther’s tavern with a rowdy crowd of students teasing bartender Luther and calling for beer and wine.  Originally scored for principle cast members and 4-part men’s chorus, this arrangement of Scene IV of the Prologue: Luther’s Drinking Song ‘Drig! Drig! Drig! Drig!’ is adapted for 4-part SATB ensemble and piano accompaniment.  This exhilarating drinking chorus is a great opener for an evening of drinking songs – or an evening of light outdoor entertainment – or a recital for community engagement.  It is in original French language.  Performance time:2:40+- Bring us your beer, your wine; Fill our glass until morning! Your wine is ours!

Small Ensemble Guitar,Piano,Violin,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.801551 Composed by Connie Boss. Holiday,Sacred,Wedding. Score and parts. 4 pages. Connie Boss #6101807. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801551). This is an original song that is perfect at a wedding reception. Most songs are for a wedding, but since I was asked to sing at the reception of my nephew and his bride, I decided to make it a song for a wedding reception that would be perfect for a toast from the bride and groom to each other. The lyrics work for both of them so a soloist can sing it on their behalf. I also have this posted for sale for strings and vocal solo and piano. cdboss@cvalley.net see lyrics below:
