Composed by Tyler J. Holt. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 14 pages. TJHoltMusic #6138231. Published by TJHoltMusic (A0.1021631).

Tarantella for the Boys, Op. 24 was written for solo piano and is dedicated to my nephews Braxton, Brayden, and Bryson. The overall mood is reminiscent of their energetic personalities with exception of the Bryson, the youngest nephew, who is under a year old at the time of composing this piece; the others are 2 and 4 years old respectively. The form of this piece is a rondo and one motive represents each of the boys with each motive becoming a little more subdued. On the other hand, the initial motive is the conglomerate of all three of their personalities, which returns often throughout the piece. At the end of the piece, the energy reaches a point where it is almost out of control, even clumsy, and ends with my middle nephew Brayden face-planting on the ground due to his clumsiness.

Tarrantella Blue was my attempt to combine a traditional tarantella type of melody and chord structure (found in the Abruzzo region of Italy) with a brooding minimalist/cinematic piano part. The whole work was composed and arranged in one sitting. This version includes a cello part, which was excerpted from the full string quartet accompaniment. Playing this piece “rubato†will require the pianist, mandolinist, and cellist to really listen to each other. This approach would bring out the moodiness that I was trying to convey with this work.

This sheet music includes the score and parts.

Composed by Gioachino Rossini. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. 19th Century,Opera,Romantic Period,Singer/Songwriter. 95 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1081280. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1505900).

La Danza is a song with lyrics by Carlo Pepoli, a poet and democratic politician of the Italian Risorgimento. Gioacchino Rossini composed the music 1835  originally for solo voice and piano. It is part of his song cycle Les soirées musicales with twelve pieces by various poets. This version was orchestrated and  arranged in the key of A minor as prefered by prominent tenors like Luciano Pavarotti. It was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind  Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2017 at the Grosses Festspielhaus  (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria. The solo part was sung by Thai born tenor Nutthaporn Thammathi. A live recording of this concert is available at  https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/viva-litalia/ or  https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/viva-l-italia/hnum/10428716?iampartner=303&subid=umr12&ref=partner.jpc.de . A pure orchestral version in G minor has been published by the arranger at https://tirolmusikverlag.at/La-Danza-Tarantella-Napoletana. It has also been  recorded by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/le-rendez-voud-de-chasse/ .
