Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1492434 Composed by Orlando Gibbons. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Christian,Christmas,Renaissance,Sacred. 5 pages. Con Spirito Music #1069110. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1492434). As On The Night is a song text for Christmas Day by English poet, satirist, pamphleteer, and hymn-writer George Wither (1588-1667), whose life spanned the tumultuous period in English history that included the reigns of Elizabeth I, James I, and Charles I and the continuous tension between Catholic and Protestant faith and practice. Desiring to counter the practice of exclusively using psalms as texts for congregational singing in worship, Wither published in 1623 The Hymnes and Songs of the Church, with The First Part comprehend[ing] Hymns, and such parcels of Holy Scripture, as may properly be sung, with some other ancient Songs and Creeds, and The Second Part consist[ing] of Spiritual Songs, appropriated to the several Times and Occasions observable in the Church of England. As On The Night appears in part two as a song to commemorate Christmas Day. Its first stanza is a retelling of elements of the Nativity story as found in Luke 2:7-20; its second stanza is a consideration of the Incarnation and work of Christ (Our flesh he wore, our sin to wear away; Our curse he bore, that we escape it may; And wept for us that we might sing for aye.).The music accompanying As On the Night is Song 46, one of many tunes written for Wither's collection by English composer and keyboardist Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625). As Gibbons notated only the melody and bass lines of his tunes, the harmonization in this arrangement for SATB choir and organ is largely that of The English Hymnal (1906).  ©Copyright 2024 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). SATB choir (choir divisi) unaccompanied - Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8452-E Composed by Frank Ferko. Advanced/Collegiate. Secular, 21st Century, Creation/Nature. Instrument part. 20 pages. Duration 6 minutes, 7 seconds. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8452-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8452-E). English. In the summer of 2011, while I was visiting my friends Don and Sally Roberts in Santa Fe, Sally asked me if I would be interested in writing a new choral work for Don in celebration of his upcoming 75th birthday. The idea appealed to me very much, so I readily agreed to write the piece. Since Don has enjoyed a lifelong interest in the American Southwest Pueblo people and their customs, Sally provided me with several Tewa texts, in English translation, to consider for musical setting. I was particularly drawn to the imagery of Song of the Sky Loom, so that poem became the basis for the new work. The music begins with two baritone soloists singing an introductory 'call-and-response' to which the entire chorus eventually responds. The opening line of text is first presented in fragmented form, as if voices from all areas of nature gradually rise up and then merge into a unified chordal texture. As the text turns to the imagery of weaving, the musical texture, accordingly, becomes contrapuntal: individual melodic lines, sung by solo voices or small groups (the 'weft'), intertwine with each other and also with the main chorus, which provides the overall harmonic structure (the 'warp'). The following chorale section, infused with occasional chromatic inflections, represents the massive 'rainbow' in the text and brings the work to a unified conclusion. Song of the Sky Loom was first performed by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, under the direction of Joshua Habermann, on July 19, 2016 with three subsequent performances during the following two weeks. -Frank Ferko Duration: 6:07.

Brass Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.905188 By The Killers. By Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer, and Ronnie Vannucci. Arranged by Lucy Wilson. Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 10 pages. Lucy Wilson #4742175. Published by Lucy Wilson (A0.905188). This famous song by the Killers is sure to get the crowd going! A great sing-along, perfect for festivals, pub gigs, or just a fun piece to add to a concert. The iconic opening is played by the second trumpet - with a technical pattern requiring a light touch and some good flexibility. The tuba takes the limelight in the first verse, before taking on the role of bass, providing a solid rhythm. The trombone also gets the tune, and the trumpets have the option of taking some parts up an octave if they choose. This would suit an advanced student group - grade 7+.Please see my other arrangements for brass, including hits by Ed Sheeran, Shakira, Seal and The Bangles! https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/lucy-wilson/9925

Score and parts. 11 pages. JV MUSIC #4363331. Published by JV MUSIC (A0.722778). The National Game for Brass Quintet by John Philip SousaArranged by Jari Villanuevahttps://youtu.be/LweuvxbTtOYA great baseball piece of music! John Philip Sousa was a great fan of baseball. He played the game and even wrote article about America’s Pastime. Sousa wrote the march THE NATIONAL GAME at the behest of Kenesaw Mountain Landis, the Commissioner of Baseball. For music and sports scholars and aficionados the years 1900-1920 are considered the golden age of the John Philip Sousa Band and baseball in America. The 1908 World Series is considered the greatest and most controversial baseball series of the twentieth century and the Sousa Band’s World Tour of 1910-1911 is undoubtedly one of the most unique music public relations efforts by a single individual to introduce the early twentieth-century world to American music, culture and baseball. John Philip Sousa’s band also served as his baseball team whenever they had a chance to play a game of baseball against another team from a community in which they were performing a concert.

SATB divisi chorus a cappella - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1505 Composed by Martin Åsander. Kitty O'Meara wrote a poem during the Covid-19 pandemic. Like the virus, the poem got viral and spread across the world – but with a message of hope. Here put to music for choir a cappella. Secular. 11 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1505. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1505). 8.27 x 11.7 inches. We all remember the pandemic that swept the planet in early 2020. Lifestyles changed: less social contact, followed by rapid change in workplaces, health care and other institutions. Everyone was affected in some way. Playing music – and choir singing in particular – was considered by many countries to pose an increased risk of spreading infection and was discouraged. During these strange times, I found a poem by Kitty O’Meara on social media. The text originates from her own blog post in March 2020 with the title In the Time of Pandemic. The poem poses an image for a distinctive perspective during the coronavirus outbreak, the hope that something good can come from a collective state of together, apart. The idea of individual freedom of action when things are beyond our control, and at the same time a notion that the time after this will not only exist but can be better than before. The lyrics inspired the music to be both meditative with repetitive phrases and motifs and also uplifting and full of confidence and joy. And the People Stayed Home was commissioned to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the St Jacob’s Vocal Ensemble and was first performed at St Jacob’s Church in Stockholm on November 19, 2022. – Martin Åsander.
