Instrumental Duet,Lever Harp - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808007 Composed by Charles Converse. Arranged by Serena O’Meara. Country,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual,Traditional. 10 pages. O'Meara Music #4621501. Published by O'Meara Music (A0.808007). One of the most popular hymns of all times, the poem, What A Friend We Have in Jesus, was a poem written by Joseph Scriven in 1855. He sent it from Canada to his Mother in Ireland. In 1868, American Charles Converse, an attorney and composer of hymns, came across Scriven’s poem and set the words to music, publishing it in a hymnal. Set in the key of F, the melody is shared equally between parts. Each part is of equal difficulty, although Harp II makes F# in each verse. Dynamics are clearly marked. You will receive the Score, Harp I, Harp II and a page of lyrics.

It was quickly recognized for its show-business potential outside Broadway and was picked up by popular singers to include in their performances in their club and television appearances. Both female and male singers have made it an inclusion in their recorded albums to great effect.

Score and parts. 13 pages. Sandy McIntire #6339131. Published by Sandy McIntire (A0.697675). What Wondrous Love Is This is arranged here for an easy intermediate string trio (two violins and cello). This American Christian hymn is taken from William Walker's Southern Harmony (1835), a shape note hymnal. The lyrics of the hymn were first published in 1811 and the melody is older with sources referring to various origins. Each of the four iterations builds on the melody. The second and third are variations in baroque style.  A score and single sheets for each instrument are included. The second violin part is also within easy range of a viola. This arrangement is appropriate for Lent and Easter holidays, and its modal key and rhythm make it particularly appropriate for a processional or memorial piece. An MP3 audio version of this arrangement is also available at sheetmusicplus.com.
