Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782165 Composed by James Haynor. Contemporary. Score and parts. 71 pages. James Haynor #3080415. Published by James Haynor (A0.782165). The Program Music Suite consists of three movements : Order, Tranquility and Menace. As the name program music implies, each movement portrays an emotion or situation.   Order is meant to invoke a machine-like, assembly line, factory feeling. Toward the end, someone throws a monkey wrench into the works and everything grinds to a halt. The bass drum signifies someone kicking the machine and restarting it. The piece fades out to signify the end of the day. Tranquility, as the name implies, evokes feelings of peace and contentment through the use of a flowing melody and lush harmonies. Menace, in contrast, brings the suite to an end, starting with a threatening build up, begun in the percussion. It then crescendos into a rather energetic and loud wind up, with rising and falling lines, before a dramatic spill to a close. The suite is very playable and a fresh sound for your audiences. ( Duration 5:35 )

Contralto voice and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8769-3E Composed by Juliana Hall. 6 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8769-3E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8769-3E). English.Juliana Hall wrote her song cycle Of That So Sweet Imprisonment for mezzo soprano Stephanie Blythe, for whom Hall had expressed a desire to write a piece. Blythe accepted Hall's proposal, and her request was that Hall write a song cycle for contralto voice. In recounting her motivation for writing this piece, Hall - in a discussion with Blythe at the Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar (where Hall was the Guest Composer in 2018) - said You know what I think is really so wonderful is how you [Blythe] communicate, from here to there, right to the audience...it just speaks, the words, the text, come right...right to the heart of each person...I was thinking, what a wonderful person, what a wonderful voice...to be able to communicate...I've just got the most perfect singer to take these songs, this wonderful subject of love, and present it to the worldThe seven poems Hall set in Of That So Sweet Imprisonment were chosen from James Joyce's early book of poems, Chamber Music (Elkin Mathews, London) published in 1907.  The poems are arranged in a narrative arc that takes the listener from the presence of love in nature (Strings in the Earth and Air), to the human feeling of emptiness when love is not present (Winds of May), to a description exulting in the joys of human love (Of That So Sweet Imprisonment), to expression of human love such as kissing (In the Dark Pine-Wood), to love's tranformation of a girl into a woman through love making (Bid Adieu), to the feelings of contentment in the early morning after making love (At That Hour When All Things Have Repose), and finally a call for the lovers to go to a special place where they may remain together in love (O Cool is the Valley).Of That So Sweet Imprisonment will be premiered on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City, by Ms. Blythe and pianist Alan Smith, on the third concert of the Sparks & Wiry Cries' NYC songSLAM Festival, entitled Expressions of Love: Stephanie Blythe and Friends.Contents:I. Easy Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033500 Composed by Lynne Cox. Children,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score. 4 pages. Lynne Coc Publications #638805. Published by Lynne Coc Publications (A0.1033500). Blue, in Lynne's new series, Box of Paints, was created around the color that is the most favored of all the colors. This piano solo is built entirely on whole-tone (whole step) scales and clusters and could be taught by rote. The whole-tone scale is also called the hexatonic scale because it is comprised of 6 tones (consecutive). It is the opposite of the chromatic scale which moves by half-tones (half-steps). Blue was created to be performed languidly in 6/4 with quarter note = 105 and liberal use of both damper and soft pedals, it expresses musically the feeling of floating. Explores 4 octave range. Created to be performed very expressively and with some rubato, the student enjoys exploring almost entire keyboard. Form is A B A B Fingering is made up entirely in each hand of 2 3 4 with some crossing over of hands. Great piece for beginners and how to perform an ending with finesse this ending being a low cluster held by the 6 full counts plus a fermata, teaches one how to continue the dreamy mood in this setting entirely opposite from ending with finesse on my Orange-this being flashy with ending. Defined as a cool color, blue is one of the 3 primary colors. Like the color green, serene blue evokes feelings of calmness and relaxation. Some even speculate that just looking at the color blue causes the body to create chemicals that are calming. Blue is also symbolic of stability and reliability, inspiring use of this color in the business world in advertising. It is the color of the sky and ocean (reflecting the sky). Lynne Cox is the artist who performs the vocals and piano on this you tube site (and other streaming platforms) Also on you tube and other streaming platforms, Lynne performs an instrumental version.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Digital Download SKU: A0.971797 Composed by Britt Andrew Burns. Contemporary. Score and parts. 22 pages. Indie Classical Publications #42345. Published by Indie Classical Publications (A0.971797). BEING WITH TIME was composed in 2002. It is one of my very early compositions and my first attempt at writing a brass quintet. I performed various low brass instruments in my younger years, and I learned a lot about how to write for brass as a result. The horn is the most challenging of the parts, but nothing here is too overwhelming for a college-level player. The work is set in a type of rondo form with various new ideas introduced throughout the work. The title is based on the feeling of peace in your life one gets while focusing on the present moment instead of worrying about the future.v Difficulty: Grade 4 (medium advanced). Duration: 4:40.

Franco Esteve #722619. Published by Franco Esteve (A0.1121448). About Contagion, the music From quarantine life, something painful this way comes, a new, pandemic inspired, life soundtrack… Contagion is a moment, an interruption, signifying an expression of feelings and music that the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic and quarantine brought to light. It’s a contemporary classical life-track, serving as a soundtrack to the contagion, to its spread, to its mystery, its attack on the body, to our losses during the Covid-19 pandemic and to our future beyond them. As the virus flooded every news outlet, Contagion became an interruption, a mysterious invader, taking over everything, needing to be expressed. It’s a “lifetrack†or “life soundtrack†with its contemporary classical orchestral sounds expressing the feelings and experiences of those first few months of dread and quarantine, through which many of us felt the fear of it all and the actual loss of loved ones. Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774734 By Fleet Foxes. By Robin Pecknold. Arranged by Sandra Millien. Contemporary. Octavo. 9 pages. Sandra Milliken #4404578. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774734). White Winter Hymnal was first released by the American indie folk band Fleet Foxes in 2008 as the first single from their debut self-titled album. The song was written by group member Robin Pecknold and has been covered by several groups and solo singers including Kim Wilde in 2013 and Pentatonix in 2014.The meaning behind White Winter Hymnal is somewhat open to conjecture. Pecknold has explained that he intended this gently uplifting song to be like Whistle While You Work from Snow White â€“ something to hum along to as you do the dishes. Pecknold added that the words actually tell a more painful story about loss of the innocence of youth, being about my experience when I was a kid, you know, like I had my really tight group of friends. But as we grew up from grade school to junior high to high school, everybody just kind of split off, and everybody kind of changed. I went from like this tight-knit group to, seemingly for no reason, everybody was kind of going their own way. That song is just about that feeling. This very accessible arrangement, featuring piano and guitar accompaniment with tambourine percussion, is ideally suited to winter and general programming, and makes an ideal concert opener.
