A real crowd pleaser and guaranteed to get your band a standing ovation every time. It's amazing how good this easy, well written piece will make your beginning band sound. Perfect instrument ranges and lack of technical difficulties make it a winner. Complete with full score and parts for flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto and tenor sax, f horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, bells and percussion. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed. Grandpa's Boots is a 2 page intermediate level piece in the key of D major. It is the first piece from a set of pieces entitled Fiddle Tunes for Keys. This set of pieces was inspired by three separate encounters with fiddle music and beautiful scenery in the Shenandoah River Valley. There is narration in the recordings that tells the sweet story of how a young couple meet. Grandpa's Boots is a fast paced, rhythmic piece imitating an impromptu boot stomping dance performed to fiddle playing. There are parallel thirds, octave leaps, chord inversions, staccatos, accents, and complicated rhythms.
