There are many compositional techniques epmloyed such as immitation, use of the modes and chromatic alteration, but the overall style of the piece is that of a choral, intended to be close to the serene style of Palestrina, or Josquin Des Prez. This piece is to be played as if singing and the coordination of the 3 performers will be one of the challenges but also an interesting part of playing this piece. It could be played by a tutor and 2 pupils alternating the parts for extra practice benefits. The piece uses a lot of parallel 0-6-11 chords (tritone with a perfect fourth stacked on top of it) in the left hand, but I think it still works quite well in conveying the feeling I had when I was writing it, which, I imagine, is something that many people can relate to.
