In addition, the song went to No. 1 on the Billboard adult contemporary chart and reached No. 68 on the Billboard country music chart, Croce's only song to chart there. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. For interest and to keep the rhythm moving, we added some pretty cool left-hand fills. Andante (a fugue in triple counterpoint)II. ScherzoIII. Largo trionfante (a ragtime sonata whose recapitulation leads seamlessly into)IV. Variations on Restoration from William Walker's Southern HarmonyThe work is written in cumulative setting after the model of Charles Ives but in a Haydnesque homage to not just Blind Willie Johnson but also with musical tributes to Stevie Wonder, Bach (the triple counterpoint), Louis Armstrong and Lil Harden.  The fourth movement is a bravura set of variations on the shape note hymn Restoration that is the foundation of the entire sonata, using bottleneck technique throughout as an homage to Blind Willie Johnson.Owing to the use of bottleneck technique and the open D tuning throughout this is a pretty tough sonata to play but it's fun to play and I've filmed myself playing through it to demonstrate its practicality in performance.

When the clock struck the hour, a lament was heard: a new one each week, one of which was Mozart's Adagio and Allegro.Although Mozart intended the piece to be played on a mechanical clockwork organ, he wished later that it could be played on a conventional organ. In a letter to his wife Constanze dated 3rd October, 1790, he wrote, If it were on a large clock-work with a sound like an organ, I'd be glad to do it; but as it is a thing made up of tiny pipes only, which sound too shrill and childish for me. As time passed, Mozart seemed to be content with the decision, saying later that the work and its installation in the gallery in fruitlessness and purity and compatibility to the works of art eclipses anything that anyone has ever succeeded in producing.

Meanwhile, the first two fingers of the right and the left hand play an accompaniment of short chords and single notes. Chopin indicated the fingering himself note by note for almost 800 notes. Paul Taffanel transcribe this Etude for solo flute as an Etudeof Chromatism, and I Re- arranged it add the piano accompaniment. .
